First inferno run?!?!?!
Do any of you guys remember your first ever inferno II run? I just got the game today after playing Trials2 SE for a few years. I quickly rushed through the easier tracks to unlock the extremes as fast as I could.
After The extremes were unlocked, I immediately went to inferno to try it out. My score was 156 faults in 14 minutes and 1 second (no restarts at all). Not the best, I know http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon/wink.gif But, I've only been playing 2 hours.
So, what're your first run?
P.S. Sorry if this has been a thread before. I'm new to the HD section of the forum http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon/smile.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Yeah I remember...... Rage quit at the very first obstacle http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I remember thinking Going Up was way harder than inferno... Now that I look back, I just dont understand why I had such a hard time with that one stupid box.

Lmao! You and me both man...

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
All I remember is timing out several times on each before finishing them.
On Brown Boxes, I first got stuck at the "long jump", the third or fourth CP... then right after, where you have to chain three precision jump. Then before the very end. That box had me stumped for a long time as well.
On Going up, it was the second obstacle. It took me a lot of time to get up there. I remember hating steep inclines. Now I love them. Then I had all the troubles in the world to get over the damned wooden box, only to realize that the rest of the track was far from being a piece of cake http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif
On Inferno I first got stuck at the tires, then just after at the inclined wooden planks. Then it was the pipe section. I had less problems overall, because I was better at the first two extrems. It was also one of the last extreme track I got platinum on.

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Inferno II was the only track that I hit 500 faults on http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_cry.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I remember the first time i made it up to the first CP and had to contend with that swinging thing and the angled beam, i think i rage quit that a few times. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_redface.gif http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on/biggrin.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
It was the 3 angled slopes after the drop down that I faulted on. I just didn't understand the bike enough to get it to land softly instead of bouncing back http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_redface.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I played the extremes for the first time with my friends. You know, five faults, pass the controller. Passed all of them on the first try. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon_cool.gif
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I remember doing the tires timesaver on the first run without even knowing that it was possible and faulted out at the two wooden planks.
And you know what's funnier?.......The fact that i always retried to do it but never had success http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Before I passed the track, I remember getting to the last obstacle on Inferno 2 with 15 seconds left on the clock, and......timed out!
It's the only track I've ever hit the time limit on (Not counting Nibiru by Willyumz, which is horrifically hard for me, and which I still haven't passed http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_cry.gif ).

Oh man that box is a little son of a B!
I didn't pass inferno until after I tried many many times....

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Inferno II was the last original extreme I passed. I think I hit the 30 min/500 fault limit at least 2 or 3 times before I figured out how to get past the steep pallets. I think, then, I hit the fault limit a couple of more times on the gap/beam/gap at the very end.
It was also the last original track I zero-faulted (much, much later), which I've done exactly once. It's far from a platinum, but still good enough to stay in the replay.
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I timed out on inferno 2 at the Pallet obstacle
Then I beat with like 485 faults
Then down to 100ish
Then down to like 3 or 4
And now 0
It's been one hell of a journey http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on/biggrin.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Wow, glad I'm not the only one who was terrified of going up ^^
InfernoII Was twice as easy as going up! But then again, Going up seems like it will be much easier a second time now that I know what to do.
I've completed all the extreme tracks, and I want to try some of these "Impossible" tracks I've been hearing about made by you guys. Do you think you could share? My gamertag is XMike9 http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon/pray.gif
And a last question, I'm a noob since I just got the game and have no idea how to watch top replays. Can anybody help me out on this? thanks!

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
When hovering over a track or skill game press y to go the leader boards. From there you can move left and right to choose between friends, find me, and overall. Then when hovered over a time just press y again and it will download (on a split second) and start viewing the replay. There's some controls on the bottom of the screen like pause and fast forward as well.
You can only watch replays of the top 5,000 runs on original game tracks and the big pack dlc, and then I think only gold medal replays on the big thrills.

The requirement for having a replay on a track is that it's at least a gold metal, and that it's ranked 5000 or higher.

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Same as everyone else, i remember exceeding 500 faults on Inferno 2, that was the only track i done that on! Had a problem with nearly every obstacle, especially the last obstacle before the swinging hammers :L
And of course....The box on Going Up had me stumped for a long long long long time! And i still hate it now!
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Yep i hit 500 faults or the 30 minutes time limit about 3-4 times and spent about a week trying to get through that track.
Mike, it's like when I played T2se for the first time and passed Inferno after about 1500 faults, I said that T2se was much harder than HD.. Your effort has pretty much proven this point, given that you are an awesome T2se player and was able to do this so much easier... Maybe that;s flawed logic, but good effort all the same dude.

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
god!! ill be honest i had a few 30min time outs and a few 500 faulters but i got there in the end!lol there is a custom track which is made by someone and it is like a tribute track to inferno its awesome!
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
Because my playtime on that track alone is probably 30 days I can get less than 48 seconds every time
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I've gone to the leaderboards of tracks and clicked Y while over the top times, and it doesn't work http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon/sad.gif I have no idea why. Anybody know what I might be doing wrong?
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
@mike99
When scrolling through the tracks, just hit y to bring up the leaderboards. The button prompt will show on the bottom of the screen after you hit y on the track you want to view. If you're trying it from the pause menu, I don't think think that will work. You can view the leaderboards from there, but replays aren't available while paused. I'm pretty sure thats right. Also, it must be at least a gold medal run ranked 5000 or better.

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
inferno II was the first and only time ive seen the epic fail screen, until diabolic ofc XD
i thought brown boxs was harder than goin up.
took some time to go over the box on GU but the one on BB realy got me the first time
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
i never timed out on inferno but thats only cos i quitted at those angled pallets about 3 times and left the track alone for a couple of weeks until i was good enough to pass it http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif
i also remember not getting platinum on it the first time i got 0 faults, which was both an incredible achievement and the most annoying feeling ever knowing that id have to do it all again.
-
Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I hit 500 faults on the two slanted wooden planks, oh they were the days! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...s/icon_lol.gif

Re: First inferno run?!?!?!
I did inferno II before groundhog, I was drunk though and did it with 256 faults.
-
Almost the same.
What phrase... super, excellent idea
-
Hmm, maybe 500fauls or time out.. :D
