Re: Starfire's Reviews and Rants (4 reviews and 3 rants!)
Rant 3 - The economy in Fusion Genesis.
Now this story is a real spinner. I go into the auction and decide to bid on two cheap-*** things that would cost me $4,000. I had saved up $14,000 from about 5 hours of playing, so I felt I needed to spend it on some pointless junk. After making my bid of $1,700 for the second item, I find that my money changes to -$165,000!! Like WTF!!
I lost both auctions and got the $4,000 returned to me. So I'm now at -$160,000!! WHAT A *COUGH* TERRIBLE GAME!!
As you might have guessed, the cheapest items of around $500 are now TOTALLY UNAFFORDABLE!!

Review 5 - Orcs Must Die
The first clear thing I thought about this game was "refined". The game is well balanced, the enemies are distinct, the attacks and traps are distinct. It is intense - especially on Nightmare mode. And the music is mesmeric.
Shame the environments do not come in, say, three themes. And I would have liked to have unlocked all the levels when nightmare mode is unlocked.
What kept it very interesting was that you get a new ability or trap in each level right until the finish. Great work, team. I'd love a sequel. 5/5 A League (note that I lifted all my arcade reviews to A League - check the first post for a summary)

Review 6 - Portal: Still Alive.
I own the Orange Box, which has portal without the bonus levels and leaderboards. I played Portal a lot. I got silver on all the challenges and gold on half the challenges. Proudest accomplishment is 9 steps in the first challenge. It's a great original game and has the trademarks that made Valve famous.
Here's where it loses points. The steps challenges are too strict. If you breathe on the analog stick, your character will move. What a load of bull. Ever heard of shuffling one's feet, Valve? What this means is you need to save and load and repeat to do very basic movements. Pfft. Pass.
And the Orange Box doesn't have leaderboards. So suck on this: you lose half a point. Portal Still Alive gets 4.5/5 and is Star League.
Re: Starfire wants to DO more reviews! Please make a request!
Wait a second, I thought that the Portal that came with the Orange Box was just "Portal" and that the version on XBLA, with the bonus levels and such, was "Portal: Still Alive". I could certainly be mistaken though.
Here's some games from my past that I want to see reviewed:
Star Wars: JTL
Portal 2
CoD: MW (Story mode! 1, not 2 or 3!)
1000 Heroz
Alien Phobia III
Hexen
And we'll keep it at that for now.
PS: It would be easier to read your reviews if you post them to your original post and just post a new message saying that you added a certain review. Also, purple = BAD COLOR CHOICE! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif
Re: Starfire wants to DO more reviews! Please make a request!
Thanks Shifty. I haven't played Portal Still Alive, but it was requested so I reviewed it. I strongly doubt that the extra levels (which are not a part of the original story) would improve the score. If anything, they might lower the score, but I doubt it.
Hmm maybe I should provide a list of games I've played. Of that list, I can only review Hexen (what I remember of it - that game is ancient!).

I haven't played Trials second edition. Shifty, ah yes Hexen, the last 3D shooter with sprites instead of polygons, the last of its kind before Quake revolutionized the gaming table.

Quake Shmake. Hexen is KING!
