Couple of questions/tips about level editor
I have Trials HD on the XBLA Triple Pack Disk with the latest title update. I have a few questions:
1. What are the force rotation and dummy tools and what do they do?
2. I have a couple of tracks, but only a few are good and even those are nothing compared to what I see on youtube. How do I get inspired or make better tracks?
Also, tips:
1. For only forward tracks, my best track is a series of loop-de-loops that I built and tested as I went. If something is off/adding something changes physics, just tweak the angles of the ramps and things until it's back to normal. I managed to build a 20-second track in 2 hours without any major tweaks this way.
2. If you're bored and wanna mess around, insert a vertical shipping container as far into the ground/roof as it'll go, put a physics trigger right above/below/next to it, and clear a loooot of space above/below it. It's the pain rocket!
Related to 2: Putting one of these out of sight above the track and putting the trigger at rider level makes for a fun surprise. Just cruising along this destructible bridge when BAM! AAGGGGHHHHH!!!
Couple of questions/tips about level editor
Force rotation does exactly what it's name says, it forces a physics enabled object glued to the hinge to rotate. You need to glue one side of the hinge to the object you want to rotate and the other side of the hinge needs to be glued to another object.
The Dummy does nothing by itself, but when glued to another object it can act as an invisible physics piece. It can also add stability to physics enabled constructs.
There are tutorials for these two tools posted on the forums, if I were on my laptop I would find them for you, but a quick search should yield results.

Under what categories are they in the level editor?

I'm not at my Xbox right now, but I think they are under the 2nd "Tools" section in the editor.
