Non-videogame related hobbies
Hopefully you find this interesting. I am interested in finding out what you do with your spare time. Please do share.
Personally, I make spudguns (potato cannons) in my spare time. And I dont mean your typical spray some hairspray and click a BBQ Ignighter. I am talking about 16 foot long Air cannon firing a frozen can of dog food more than twice as fast as a bb gun shoots. Or a propane powered cannon with an onboard fuel metering and a modified stun-gun ignition that will send a golfball out of sight.
Here is the big air cannon

and what it does to a dvd player using the before-mentioned frozen can of dog food

and some videos of it in action (Must Watch):

Here is the propane powered golfball cannon.

And a video of it shooting a watermelon:

A smaller air-cannon that shoots 1/4 inch steel ball bearings using 400 psi of air. I hand carved the stock out of Oak

and what it looks like without the stock:

This is what we crazy hicks do in the middle of nowhere.
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies

for me, im usually at work, or tending to my little daughter, skateboarding, or chilling out, pretty basic =)
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
Awesome Jook. Love those Air soft rifles and cannons. Think that 16 footer would take a vehicle right out. ( GAS TANK SHOT, BOOM ) Don't try this at home. I make some music. But mostly addicted to my 360 for now.
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
My main hobby/goal is trying to get the hang of digital art, mostly so that I could create my own art for personal (and bragging http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...con_e_wink.gif) use. So far, eh, it's not going so well but I've got the hang of using Photoshop and I've read up on some tutorials for drawing people, both realistic and cartoonish. I'm only 16 but I figure that I'll eventually be at the top of my game... er, art! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif

Thats cool man. You should post up some pictures of your art. I have done quite a bit of art as well. Some digital, most traditional.

Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
I do a variety of things other than trials hd, I have a number of hobbies actually.
I've been flying RC airplanes for a long time, and for the past 5 years or so I've been flying RC helicopters. The biggest heli I fly has a twin cylinder gas engine...52 cc of raw power! The heli weighs 20 lbs and is quite big! It turns out I did a bad editing job on one of my youtube vids of trials tracks, and at the very end of 1 vid, there are a few seconds of this particular heli as it lands.
I used to play guitar for years, Rock, Metal and Blues, but a wrist injury put an end to that!
I also do competitive sailing, but I haven't done much in the past few years.
I have a small foundry in my garage. I cast a variety of metals, it's pretty cool pouring molten metal into a sand mold. I've done a wide of range of castings, from artistic style of work such as candleholders, clocks, vases, and a bunch of other items, to special items to repair or build all kinds of objects.
With that I also do a bunch of machining and welding as I am fairly well setup for those as well.
Woodwork as well of all kinds, and I also build custom roadcases/flightcases, the type you see bands carrying their gear and PA equipment around in. I've been tempted to make a really nice roadcase for my xbox, as I carry it back and forth from work almost everyday.
I'm not a gamer, I only bought my xbox for Trials HD, and it's still the only game I play on it.
But there is a whole world of fun outside of the xbox! LOL

Lmao, I rarely ever save anything I draw (infact I don't think I have anything saved http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image.../icon_razz.gif), usually because it's nowhere near good. Your drawings are pretty awesome, though http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
i TRY to play a bit of guitar, drums and cuatro besides gaming. I used to love rollerblading gave that up though haha. http://www.youtube.com/gamescrubs me playing the cuatro haha. It's piss poor.
Oh btw jook what part of AZ you in? By the looks of it you are either in surprise or tucson haha.
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
I'm in Prescott Valley. My parents have 10 acres Outside town. Plenty of room for undisturbed destruction http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_twisted.gif . AZ is one of the few states it legal to build air cannons in.
Re: Non-videogame related hobbies
DAMN that is hella far. I'm stuck in Mesa, the hell hole of Arizona.
