Re: Trials HD complete feature list
Game features:
- Two game modes: Trials Racing and Skill Games.
- In Trials Racing you have to pass various obstacle filled tracks by doing as few faults as possible. Scores with equal faults are separated by time, so it's essential to get to the goal as fast as possible.
- In Skill Games you have to ride in various extreme circumstances doing deadly stunts and tricks. For example riding inside a huge giant ball, hauling a cart filled with explosives or tumbling down stairs to break some bones. There's 12 different skill games present.
- 51 tracks total separated in 5 difficulty levels (beginner, easy, medium, hard, extreme).
- 8 tournaments: Tournament is a series of tracks played in a row, one after other. Your score is the time and faults of all tracks in the tournament added together.
- 8 different bikes: 5 trials racing bikes and 3 special skill game bikes. Beginner bikes are slower, but much easier to ride, while the advanced bikes require lots of skill to master.
- 12 challenging and fun achievements. Gamer picture rewards.
- As you pass the tracks, you unlock new difficulty levels, new bikes, new skill games, new tournaments and hidden bonus features.
- Each track has goal times and goal maximum faults. You are awarded with medals (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) as you pass the tracks and improve your scores.
- You can customize your bikes and your rider outlook in the garage. Other players watching your replays online see your customized rider/bike.
- Zero loading times (level and menu screen openings). All game content is loaded to the Xbox 360 memory at startup. No waiting required!
- Fast restart feature allows you to restart the track instantaneously with a single button press either to the track start or to the last checkpoint visited. Non-stop action!
- Checkpoint interval times show how much behind/ahead are you compared to your best run in the track.
- Local session track leaderboards allow party playing using multiple local (offline) profiles.
- Supports Xbox Live downloadable premium content. Content packs can include new tracks (racing & skill), new tournaments, new achievements and new level editor objects.
Online features:
- Each trials racing track, skill game track and tournament has it's own global online leaderboard.
- Total ranking leaderboard is combined by adding the scores of all the 55 separate leaderboards together.
- The best run of 5000 top players in each leaderboard has a downloadable replay. Replays show control input of the player, so others can learn by watching replays of the best.
- Nearest friends leaderboard and their global ranking shown in level selector menu. It's easy and fast to keep up with your online rivals.
- Friend scores system allows real time in-game comparison of your current run and all your friend's best runs.
- Friend scores in racing tracks: At top of the screen you see a meter showing how much behind or ahead you are compared to the currently closest friend's top score.
- Friend scores in skill games: Markers with friends' gamertags can be seen around the level showing the positions the friends have reached in the track on their best runs.
- You can see what track or skill game other players are currently playing by looking at those players' gamer cards.
- All Trials HD online features are fully accessible with the free Xbox Live silver membership.
Physics features:
- Advanced physics engine allows very realistic 3d physics simulation and full physics interaction between game objects.
- Complex physics obstacles such as various vehicles, suspension bridges, elevators, explosion chains, huge structures falling down, etc.
- Objects break into pieces on intense pressure or impact.
- Over 100 different physics objects modeled to be as realistic as possible (weight contribution, friction setup, collision model and graphics outlook).
- Realistic, very painful looking bike and rider (ragdoll) crashes. Damage to all rider body parts is simulated (including broken bones and body joints).
Graphics engine features:
- Deferred renderer highly optimized for Xbox 360 architecture
- Locked always 60 fps (frames per second) tearless (vsynched) graphics output
- Floating point high dynamic range (HDR) rendering
- Real time per pixel phong lighting from all light sources
- All objects and scenery cast dynamic soft shadows
- Sophisticated 12 channel per pixel material system
- Parallax mapping on all surfaces
- Anisotropic filtering on all surfaces
- Tone mapping emulating eye iris adjustment to lighting conditions
- Post process filters: depth of field and overexposure light bloom
- Advanced GPU powered particle engine (up to 10k+ particles per frame)
- Particle per pixel lighting, dynamic shadows and proper depth ordering
- Sophisticated custom material and geometry compression algorithms allow uncompromized texture and object quality
Level editor:
- Fully featured level editor that offers you all the same tools, objects and physics features we have used in built in tracks.
- All the built in tracks have been done with exactly the same editor. You can create extremely complex levels if you like.
- Level editor has "simple mode" for beginners, making it easier for new players to start creating their own levels.
- Glue feature allows you to form complex physics objects by combining multiple simple objects.
- Editor has a good selection of physics constraints: axis, hinge, slider and point-to-point (hard and soft). You can for example build your own vehicles using these.
- You can place triggers around your level. Triggers can be used to activate object physics, to activate object animation or to break/explode objects.
- Camera control objects can be placed around the level to create nice cinematic camera angles.
- You have full control over sun light properties (time of day, angle, color, ambient, etc) and dust properties. There's also a good selection of light sources you can place around your level.
- You can set medal goal times and fault limits for your own track (bronze, silver, gold, platinum).
Level Sharing:
- Share your own tracks with your Xbox Live friends by using the online track sharing functionality.
- Just a single click and the track is sent to the server. You do not need to wait for your friends to be online at the same time as you are.
- You can have seven tracks uploaded on the server simultaneously. You can change the uploaded tracks quickly and easily.
- You can browse and download the tracks shared by all your friends whenever you want, even if your friends are not online.
- You can play the downloaded tracks and save them to your Xbox hard drive and your Xbox memory units.
- Level sharing is fully accessible with the free Xbox Live silver membership.
Sound and Music:
- Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound
- Sound dynamics adjusted by room size/shape (reverb) and object/camera motion (doppler)
- Physics engine triggered material to material collision sounds
- Voice overs by Brandon DiCamillo, Art Webb and Rake Yohn! (famous from TV shows such as Viva La Bam ja *******)
- High quality sound track

Agreed. The game mode name should have been "Break the Bones" and the track name "Down the Stairs". In comparison, the "Infernal Pinball" track game mode name is "Height Jump", so that's correct. You can naturally make bone breaking tracks that do not have stairs...

My guess: 39 + 12 (minigames) = 51
Don't forget that we will be able to create extra tracks for each and every one of those minigames but for now I think it's 1 track per minigame.
-
Re: Trials HD complete feature list
It doesn't read like that! Not being awkward, but it was proof read and the other thing was sorted!
So the mini-games are split between easy, med, hard and extreme?
Unless, bonus features and unlocks total 51 tracks? for the race parts of the game!

Didn't know that! So am I right in guessing that you can create a track/level with set parameters as per minigame? new inside the ball level/track would be cool to work on! Mind you, all of them would be cool!
But saying that, we can create almost anything... new mini-games even. Create a vehicle that your back tyre goes onto to move it over tracks... like there other game, rollercoaster! you have to control speed, too fast and ...booooom! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif thats my idea btw http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...con_e_wink.gif !

Any of the 12 existing minigames, yes, but we can't create new rulesets for additional type of minigames. Still, I find that to be really good.
-
Re: Trials HD complete feature list
Think alot can be done with the current rulesets! Its just about how you interpret them!
Was reading in another post by sebbbi that tracks are unlockables! in the Unlockables bit...lol! maybe thats why the strange number?, but your right, 39 + 12mini-games = 51.... guess we'll have to wait and see!

Rings of Fire

Target Hunt
Hill Climb
Giant Ball Outside

Loose Screw

Re: Trials HD complete feature list
Strike! 15 G
Get a strike in a midnight bowling event.
What is that?
All achievements look... easy enough http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif
Except for the "Marathon" one... Is that the Extreme difficulty tournament?
Can you disclose which tracks are included in this, are there any Extreme tracks or does it end with hard ones? Anyway, that particular achievement will probably be unlocked by approx 0.05--0.1% of all players http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_twisted.gif

Re: Trials HD complete feature list
I'm guessing the achievements list would have been influenced by the complaints made against certain achievements in Trials2SE being too difficult.
It's good that there aren't any like 'top dog' and 'top score', which can become harder to get as time goes on, but it would have been nice to have more than 12. Will it be possible to add more achievements in updates if you choose to?
-
Re: Trials HD complete feature list
12 achievements with a total of 200 gamerscore is the default and required xbox live arcade achievement count. Downloadable content can add 3 new achievements with additional 50 gamerscore.
-
Re: Trials HD complete feature list
So it's regulated... fair enough.
In that case, these achievements I think have a good range both in difficulty and mechanism by which you get them.

It's a secret... but I am pretty sure you will find the bowling alley and get all the ten bowling cones down eventually...

Yes it's the extreme difficulty tournament, and it has 24 tracks... you have to pass them all in a row without a single fault to get that achievement http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_twisted.gif

Agreed. And we didn't want any achievements be based on leaderboard score. Getting your top score to the #1 of any leaderboard is a reward on it's own. With only 12 achievements to use, we wanted to use them in a better way.

All Xbox Live Arcade games have exactly 12 achievements (worth 200 total gamer score). This not not something we can change. Extra 50 gamer score can be added by 3 premium downloadable content achievements (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_Live#Gamerscore). So it's possible that we release 3 new achievements later in our track packs for example.
EDIT: Oops, didn't notice Jorma just posted most of the same info I did http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_redface.gif

It reminds me of the Tutorial-1 in Trials SE, I was deliberately trying to knock down the 10 cones at the finish line, which were conveniently placed like bowling pins http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...on_e_smile.gif
Oh and as for the Ultimate Tournament, are there any extreme tracks in it? ( I sure hope not...as Hard seems difficult enough for a 24 track, 0 fault marathon)
EDIT: whenever I put "(" followed by "I", it gives this: http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...con_asleep.gif
very annoying, it happens to me often btw.

Ultimate Endurance tournament includes all the hard tracks, but no extreme tracks. Still it's very hard to beat with zero faults as you can't restart tracks to clear the faults.

Yep, it isn't impossible feat, it's just very difficult. My last two tries have been 10 faults both and it seems only 5 of the 24 tracks are ones that usually cause faults. Those just happen to be closer to the end instead of the start, with the first trouble track (Technique) being 8th on the playlist and the hardest track being second to last.

I almost always end up with 11 faults total... last time I was on 6 faults at the 3nd last track (Smooth Jumps), I made 2 faults on it... and it's an easy track http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...icon_e_sad.gif. And the last medium track Jolly Jumper is always causing us trouble if we have good scores coming up.

What do you think?
ps.. Obviousley the track will be fine tuned by the pro's before release!

One thing i miss on the feature list is "3rd Person" view.
Its just fun to play tracks again in this perspective!
But its still the best indiegame ever! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/image...con_e_wink.gif

Re: Trials HD complete feature list
Admitedly I have only really skimmed about looking for this, but the Eurogamer review mentioned something about not having multiple camera angles... does that mean we only have Action by default, or is there still an option for Direct..?

You have neither one. The new camera is completely remade.

Eurogamer also said in their review that they never had an issue with the new camera, but I know where you are coming from, since I am a die-hard Direct camera view fan.

one question, how do i go about getting new user created levels?

Re: Trials HD complete feature list
you have to add people to your friendslist to view and play their levels you cant just download any without them being a friend

It's a big brand game, so most likely they have got an exception to have more than 12. Not heard of any other XBLA game with more than 12. Btw does it grant more than 200 gamerscore too (200 is the standard XBLA limit)?
