frodo, says on yr myspace you do free mastering? wanna take a look at our tracks and see if you can do anything for the sound? cool stuff too
sure, im fairly new at it but i can make it sound better than just a strait up recording. go ahead and send it to me in wav format if u can, it will be a big file but if u want good sound i need a wav file. thekillingfrodo@gmail.com
nice one, any help with the sound is appreciated! I think I can only send 10mb through my email so if it's bigger than that I'll upload wav to our site andgive you the link... many thanks for any help you can give
Or you can use HJ Split, really small and simple program to use for splitting/merging large files...
no chance of emailing it from here, I'll send you the tracks from work tomorrow... what do you use for mastering? I've got cubase but to be fair I'm ok with the recording side but not very good at mastering
i use neundo and some various mastering programs. really, the cool thing about mastering is u have to think of it as messing around with ur stereo eq, except what u do during mastering is actually saving those lvls so the song will always sound just the way u mastered it.(make any sense?) Then their are the other things to consider, reverb, widening, and other personal touches. but really it comes down to how u master the various EQs. like perametric EQ can actually change the volume of insterments if u play around with it long enuff. example on TheKilling frod site the second song the drums were barely loud enuff...(cause TimmyCopCaller failed to set the proper volume) after messing around for an hour or so....bam....u can hear the drums. ne way try messing around with ur cubase eqs and effects it really can be quite satisfing when u hit the sound u been looking for.
frodo, i loaded the songs onto http://www.whiskynbullets.co.uk/whiskynbullets.zip
very interested to hear what you come up with and obviously I'll credit you with the mastering.
Thanks for the tips too
