I like that its social, just like being able to create a map and sharing it is social just like playing it with someone else is social. Posting to FB is no different than posting to any Forum, FCMaps/Universe/Raptr, etc..
Also, I don't agree with the statement that it isn't fair to tell people I am excited about Far Cry, and find ways to get them involved because they believe in me. What I think is wrong is making rules that constrict the communities ability to grow, it just seems silly. I love Far Cry and I want everyone to experience it. When I see a great movie, I talk about it, when I read a great book, I talk about it. When I learn some wisdom worth sharing, I do. When Far Cry 3 came out I bought 5 copies and gave them away so others could play. I won a UK code for some FC3 content and gave it away so the community could grow. I am interested in getting support here and I share through Facebook. Everyone reading this should join us, we even have a mapping group and discuss other games and level design methodologies. I do it and I am not ashamed.
I only ask that you try and look past the competitions and see there is a whole community of players here, not just mappers, please excersize some tolerance for those that are different, I am trying to share Far Cry with the world. (always have) The community is shrinking because of this kind of attack and lack of tolerance for each other, and I, thankfully, am very open minded and tolerant.
