Redownload Far Cry 3?
I have an SSD as my system drive and 2 x 1.5TB HDD's in an Intel RAID 0.
After a PC hardware upgrade I was lucky enough to retain the existing RAID and all its data (new RAID config not required) which includes Steam, Origin and Uplay game data. Windows 7 on the SSD had to be reinstalled.
While my Steam and Origin games survived the transition (no need to re-download these games), Far Cry 3 in Uplay seems to have no other option but to re-download 9GB. Considering I can see the Far Cry 3 game data on the RAID, is there a simpler way to get Uplay to recognise that I already have Far Cry downloaded?

You would need to add the registry entries for the game.
Copy and paste the text that suits your OS from below into notepad, then Save As -> All File -> FC3.reg.
Double click your new FC3.reg file and yes ok when prompted.
For Win x64, first change "InstallDir" to your Far Cry 3 path (be sure to use double backslashes in the path):
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\UBISOFT\Far Cry 3]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Games\\Far Cry 3"
"ExecutableName"="bin\\FC3Updater.exe"
For Win x86, first change "InstallDir" to your Far Cry 3 path (be sure to use double backslashes in the path):
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\UBISOFT\Far Cry 3]
"InstallDir"="C:\\Games\\Far Cry 3"
"ExecutableName"="bin\\FC3Updater.exe"
See how it goes.
