Oh, there it is... But there is no solution for that? Far Cry 3 is the only game I have any issues. There is something I can do about that? But I dont want to buy a new one, lol. Thx man,

EternalCore,
I somehow managed to fix the problem, though I'm sure what exactly did it.
I uninstalled Far Cry 3 (from steam) and deleted the remaining folder, then uninstalled uplay and deleted any traces of it from regedit. Afterwards, I re-installed Far Cry 3 from steam, then installed ubisoft game launcher. Since I've done that, it has been working perfectly. Running it in Dx9 for a bit to see how it is (at 50-70 FPS on ultra). Will try DX11 later on.
I played for a good 3 hours and not a single crash. Thank you for the help!
Well, so I need to wait for some pacth who will fix this problem? Have any ideia?
Use CCleaner after you remove the game and Uplay here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
I run CCleaner. In a few hours the game will be installed and I post what happens.
These are the steps I took. Hopefully it works for others!
-Uninstall Far Cry 3 from steam. Remove any remaining folders in C:\Program Files (x86).
-Uninstall Uplay. Remove any remaining folders in C:\Program Files (x86).
-Go to regedit, go to the HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node and delete the ubisoft entry.
-Reinstall Far Cry 3 through steam.
-Reinstall Ubisoft Game Launcher from here: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/lau...rInstaller.exe
-If the game crashes, quit uplay, go back to steam and right click on Far Cry 3, click on set launch options and type in "-dxlevel90" (without quotations) and it should work.
I was pulling my hair out trying to get it to work. This was my last resort, and I'm glad it worked!
Support answer:
Hello ,
The developers have passed on this information about fixing performance issues:
AMD users:
• *MUST ABSOLUTELY* use at least the 12.11 BETA8 drivers (12.11 BETA11 drivers are also ok). Anything lower will result in erratic framerate and stuttering.
• Crossfire should be disabled. It has a big negative impact on performance at the moment. We are working with AMD to provide a Xfire profile asap.
Performance tips:
AC3 is a very CPU intensive game to begin with and the “Environment quality” option only makes it more demanding.
• On the “Very High” setting, the rendered surface area is twice as big as on console and the objects are 4 times more detailed.
• Users whose systems don’t have cutting-edge CPUs or that want higher framerates should consider bringing this setting down a notch.
On the GPU side:
• “AA quality” will most affect performance. Using the “Very High” or “TXAA” settings will enabled 4x MSAA, which will require beefy GPUs, especially as resolutions go up.
• “Shadow quality” will also affect performance when on “Very High”, as the shadow filtering is quite sophisticated at that setting.

Now, sorry for my ignorance, but I only have one GPU, but I need to disable this **** crossfire? I realy dont understand how this work...
So, even if doing all that did fix the issues, which I highly doubt since I have tried all that crap, thier answer is basically "nothing wrong on our end, dumb down your computer".
Of course I am speaking from the point that I can run this game with cranked up specs maintaining great framerates. Game just loves to crash. Even when I dumb it down to DX9, it will still crash randomly.
Now Uplay does not open, when I execute the game on Steam I ge this error "farcry3_d3d11.exe - Entry Point Not Found". Wtf is this?
Fix Uplay, but the game still crashing...
LOL Thats sad as they are even stating the wrong game for what you entered in with.... LOL
Well The only thing left that you can try is to reinstall windows for a fresh and clean os.
I should wait for a new patch or something... Install Win 7 again will be very annying for me, since a have lots os games here... About this crossfire fire and stuff, how I disable my overclock in AMD Catalyst? When a look at parformace those pointers those hands are at maximum. Maybe I didnt shut down this overclock.
Click on the "Restore to defaults" button to return the settings to factory.
P.S. Here's how well my game runs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgNLt3qzRh8 :D
Nothing... I give up, I'm starting to freaking out becouse of this. I spent 2 weeks trying solve it. I will wait for new AMD driver or Ubisoft patchs.
If someone wants one more option to fix this bloody game, try this one http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=3021861
Thx everyone for the help. I will check this forum regularly and if something new appers maybe I try.
TBH I used to only use AMD video cards but then I traded my Sapphire HD6870 for this card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC'd Edition and I'm not going back because AMD Destroy's their cards with bad drivers....Which is what made me switch.....
Awesome GPU, but is a little bit expensive. I like my HD 6870. I have this computer for 3 months and a half, this is the first time I had a problem. BF3 I run with everything on high, no clocks and stuff, always with 60-70 FPS, Hitman Absolution 80 FPS, Warfighter 70 FPS... I have more games here, FIFA 13, Diablo III, WoW. Thats why I think the issue come from the game. Anyway, thx alot man, you are realy patient, lol
I send an e-mail to AMD support, lets see what they will tell me.
Well, I hate to say but my problem came back - had to restart the computer for some updates and the same problem as before, steam wont launch uplay.
I'll do what I did before and see if it starts working again. All I need to know now is what is screwing up when I restart the computer.
Redoing your Windows could fix it for good. but if it doesn't then you do have faulty ram as I pointed out earlier.
Ram is tricky because errors occur at random points and random times in a faulty stick. So before you redo your windows take a stick of ram out and see if it works, if it doesn't then put that stick back in; keep doing that until you find the stick that's causing it. but if that doesn't work then redo windows.
Also make sure the computer's power is off and your grounded when switching out your memory, otherwise you could kill the stick with static electricity.
Yeah, I'll test the ram out tomorrow morning. If it's not the ram, I'll re-install Windows.
Thanks.
Mukkel_NL, I had the exact same error and was searching for solution for days, and then the steps posted by EternalCore in the first post fixed it. I did everythiong except for the Win8 and Steam steps, as I have Win7 x64 and the retail version of the game.
I almost forgot: Thank you EternalCore :)
I tried it and didn't help.
I verified the DLL's, copied all the *.DLL's fom the DVD bin directory and had to reinstall patch 1.03 => DX11 + SLI keeps crashing after each finished round.
Maybe a combination Windows 8 + SLI + DX11???
Basicly W8 is W7 with an extra layer on top. Doesn't add extra strange things.
Can't start the game It won't load past splash screen. Ive tried everything you suggested in OP and havent played since day one. (Uplay not steam)
Windows 8
i5 3570k
Sapphire 7950 12.11 beta
16 GB Ram
currently installed to another drive (wont fit on my boot ssd)
D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Far Cry 3
Things I have tried:
reinstalled Uplay (at least 3 times)
reinstalled game (probably 6 times)
reinstalled all the .net directx etc. ( at least twice)
launched in safe mode
started the computer without other programs through msconfig
AMD support about my problem:
Response and historical service request:
Sorry for the inconvenience, most know that the processor has no driver or an update available that can set a processing performance of your game. For these cases are first necessary to update the BIOS of your motherboard, just update the Microsoft Net Framework with Active X and finally uninstall the driver for your video card clearing all records with a program like CCleaner and finally install the last traverse driver of your video card. If these procedures do not resolve your case, contact the technical support of your game that Ubisoft is to provide you with some patch.
To update this service request, please respond to this message, leaving intact the reference of the service request.
Sincerely,
AMD Global Customer Care
To be honest, the only thing I didnt tryed is the reinstalation of GPU drivers after clearing all records with CCleaner. We can conclude that the problem really is Ubisoft.
Wrong W8 is WVista with extra junk..... did you update to these drivers: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/54625
Also What are your full system specs?
Did you try everything posted in the 1st post of this thread?
LOL ya AMD knows they messed up with their FX series....
next patch bites the dust.... zzzzzz ..
Yes i tried everything in the op as well. I heard that this game doesn't run at all if installed on another drive other than C. Is that true?
Here's my Dxdiag if that helps
