One of the best sci-fi writers, and a real gentleman; Ray Bradbury of Illinois has died aged 91.
Personally, I'm glad he had such a long run. His writing was in a class of its own, and I was an avid fan of his work.
Rest in peace Ray. S!

Well considering the author, if you had to choose a day what a good one (said respectfully)....

I was just coming here to post this.. R.I.P. .. and thanks for the memories..
BTW.. How ya been K .. good to see you still lurking around ..
Bradbury, unlike his closest contemporary Asimov, was not a SciFi writer per se. I'd call him more of fantasy writer whose themes often touched on staples of Sci Fi like time travel, other worlds, space etc... But his true home to me was short stories about the human condition and observations of his times. I've read and re-read "The Martion Chronicles", "The Illustrated Man", "Dandelion Wine" and other collections. A wonderful writer with true character, he will be missed.
