Hello everyone,
I've bought Prince of Persia 2008 but after I installed and started the game, it doesn't load anything. The loading goes totally wrong. Even the rotating circle lags and it costs the PC more than just 10 mins to load nothing. And nothing happends.
My specifications:
Intel I7 core 920: 2.66GHz
Asus P6T deluxe
6GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz (stock)
2x 200GB Harddiscs in RAID0
2x 7900GTO SLI
Creative Audigy 2ZS
Running on Windows XP service pack 3, Nvidia drivers 180.84 and newest Creative drivers...
PLEASE HELP! I can't even reach the help from Ubisoft! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

np. but just FYI, i got a bit further into the game after beating 1-2 bosses. after beating the warrior boss, i cannot load the saved game anymore.
it just get stuck at the loading screen. i've tried everything and it is still stuck at the loading screen. previous saved games load up just fine.
i also noticed odd glitches. like the way i came from is now just empty space. there's something definitely glitchy about this game.
waiting for a patch so i can continue on...

I was playing POP on XP without issue. Have not switched to Vista 64 and have the freeze at load screen issue. Have tried the vsync fix and tools like powerstrip but still have the same issues with load screens. If i wait long enough or do the ctrl shift esc to desktop and then switch back to the game it does finally load but then the two characters are displayed in low resolution and are very pixelated. All my drivers are up to date. PC spec is Q9450, 4 gig ram ,Radeon 4870, X-Fi elite pro , Velociraptor HD.

Try this! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif
Just edit one value in DARE.ini file
(it's located under prince of persia root folder):
DISABLE_OPTIMISATION=TRUE
Default value is FALSE
Changing this setting got me past this problem.
Hope that helps!
I had the same problem with Vista x64 and XP x64

WOW thank you mikuii... That got me past the load screen issue. Only trouble is i still have very pixelated characters. Of course when i force AA on the game goes crazy as posted elsewhere on these forums. Seems strange that on XP 32 it looked and played very well and now on Vista 64 although i can now play the game ( thanks to your fix ) the LOD of the characters is really bad. Any ideas on how i can get the detail back up to normal would be most welcome. Again thank you for allowing me to at least run this game once again.

I also had problem with pixelated shadows but haven't tried to fix it yet. I'll try to look some fix for that (changing settings from ATI catalyst control center) . I think it has something to do with those settings, but I'm not sure. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif

Thanks mikuii. I have changed some of the ATI Cat settings but it has made no positive effect. I'll keep an eye out incase you have more luck.

I think the problem is in the game, because I had no luck either.. Hopefully there's something that could fix it.
Or maybe we have to bare with the problem and complete the game with pixelated shadows.
It might have something to do with Assasin Creed engine, I heard that they used it in POP and it has the same problem with shadows.
