Speaking of Trumpeter and completely screwed up, I got the 1/32 Bubbletop P-47D for Christmas, and the the windscreen is completely porked. Does anyone know of an aftermarket one available? That, or I may email Hasegawa to see if they'll send me a sprue with theirs on it....
A question for the clever people...
When airbrushing, could you use a car tyre compressor I would guess you would need a regulator?
Never mind a car tyre compressor , some people use a CAR TYRE!
Trumpeter made a hash of their 1:32 Hellcats' windscreens, too. What did they do to it? The 1:32 razorback's windscreen is perfect. The Hasegawa gambit is worth trying and would be your best option. You'd have to find somebody with a Hasegawa bubbletop because Hase might want some proof you actually own the kit before selling you a windscreen. A not very good option is to use a Squadron vac windscreen.Quote:

Discovered too late (after cementing in cowling) that the Matchbox Pegasus engine is completely phony---aggghhhhhh. Could have bought an accurate resin one from Hannants for three quid.
Bloody hell,its about time! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies...miley-wink.gif
btw got some nice aviation books, circa 1930;s with nice piccys of Welleseys,if your intrested
You bet I'm interested!!!!!!!!!
Maybe I can find something else to sand down!!!!!
Yes please, also. The more pictures of Wellesleys I look at, the more tempted I am to start with the sanding. I'm resisting out of a curiosity to see how mine, unsanded, mostly, compares with Leit's.
While I need another model like I need a hole in my head, today's trip to the hobby shop netted a vintage Airfix 1/144 Boeing Clipper (passed up the reissue, I like the box better, I'll live with the vintage decals), an Academy 1/144 B-26 Marauder, and an Otaki 1/48 P-47. The Otaki is quite the kit- initial impression is that the fit is the equal of Tamiya's best, and the surface detail is very fine. And only $8. I may have to go back and liberate that Otaki Mk8 Spit they had...
As I recall, the fit of the wings on that Otaki 47 left a great deal to be desired. I remember my jaw dropping when I test fitted them.
