To be clear, I'm not opposed to a sleeping mechanic to change the time of day, just gave me a chuckle that such a trivial aspect would be the deciding factor on whether or not someone would buy the game. Sure it's a nice option to have, but a lack of it isn't something that would prevent me from buying it.
Also, no developer is going to take the time and effort to create a bunch of animations for specific actions only to have them as a toggle-able option, especially if they think most people would disable them. Skinning animations were great and I wish they'd bring them back, but enough people got tired of them that they made them a toggle, and when they realized many people preferred that, ditched them all together. I can understand that logic, even if I don't necessarily like it.
One thing I can already tell is going to be annoying in this game is collecting random loot everywhere because we have to hold the interact button to do so. Obviously everyone wants to pick it all up, they should've just made that an auto-pick up, because it's going to be annoying AF to wander around holding X on every little scrap of loot we see. At least in Ghost of Tshushima it only took a quick tap of a button to pick stuff up, the videos I've seen show them having to hold down the interact button just to pick up some loose components... That is going to get old REAL quick and that is an issue that I would understand turning someone off of buying...
