What if we remove guardbreaking from the game?
Wait, before you grab your torches and pitchforks, hear me out, please.
When For Honor first came out, guardbreaking was a means to counter turtling. However as more and more character with bashes are added to the game, guardbreaks become less and less of a necessity.
Think about it, most of the time, a GB is used to either
a) grab someone before or after the I-frames of their attack
b) after a feint, or
c) as part of the notorious GB option select.
Now, in a For Honor where GBs didn't exists, we could instead
a) block or time a parry to create an opening instead
b)create or update movesets to allow soft feinting into certain bashes (much like conquerors) and
c)eliminate GB option selects
Now, does having GB break the game? No. They do, however, feel rather unnecessary given the current state of the game, and removing them might lead to a smoother flow of combat.
(Note: while I do suck at countering GBs, I don't think they're overpowered. I just think they're outdated.)
