Haha love it!
Absolutely not. I took that screenshot myself yesterday while doing raid missions on Golem Island.
No idea if Reddit has something similar, wouldn't suprise me if someone else have brought it up before, though I haven't seen that myself.
All in the name of authenticity my friend... you wouldn't know anything about it.
Then again, nobody knows except them. :o
Those tanks are made of Unexplodium anyway, so it doesn't matter. You can drop them into that lava and they laugh at it.
Something I did yesterday:

Don't you dare do the same in Wildlands. As you can see, my initial reaction was to run away, but then I remembered: this is Breakpoint. Tanks here are made of Unexplodium and filled with CannotGoBoomium. So not to worry.
Was that a Behemoth? In what level of difficulty are you playing? not judging just cause I remember playing it in one level lower than the highest and those behemoth would not die just from a few shots.
And yes, my first instinct is always run fire away from a barrel on fire because more than likely what follows is an explosion of the whole barrel but, like you, I keep forgetting that I know nothing about real life encounter with exploding barrels. ;)
That was Wolf base Tiger (on the island) and shooting me was an auto-turret. Level of difficulty is Advanced, veteran and Not Guided in Immersive, no gear level, almost all GUI turned off (only lower left corner and distance pointers tbh). The most difficult? Finding the freaking collectibles as they don't stand out anymore and their icon on the map doesn't show what level they're on, if in a high rise building.
(I don't play extreme because I hate having to tape Nomad up every time she jumps down a ledge lower than the sidewalk barrier)
