Far Cry 5 is average, but sometimes it's a 10/10.
This game has been on my radar pretty much since it came out, and I played Far Cry 3 and 4 many years ago and had a lot of fun with them, so I was looking forward for the price to drop.
I just finished the story (which was serviceable), and my main issues with this game is that it is very repetitive and tries to take itself too seriously. I think it's my favorite setting in any far cry game and they got that southern american vibe really well. Also I wasn't expecting much from the soundtrack, but both the original score and the song selection were with no doubt the best part of the game. Also, the choice of playing a mute character made no sense at all.
I came very close to quitting at the beginning but what kept me going was thay every few missions, there was one that made me burst out laughing (Slight spoilers ahead). I'm talking about Testy Festy or like that mission where you kill cultists with a flamethrower while "Disco Inferno" is blasting off the speakers. While I was playing those sections, I always had a big smile on my face.
7.2/10 overall
