Thanks a lot for the Lexington tip. It allowed me to group up with people with similar skill and gear that I have.
It is boring but effective :) Unlike daily missions.

According to the GE tracker guy in the GE section of the terminal, I played ~32 hours and part of that was grinding the damn shotgun headshot at close range and the Contaminated commendations. 300? Really? I have done this 2.5 times now. That is the worst, most grindy GE commendation in my opinion. Not the hardest, just most annoying. As a result, I only ran Dragon's nest with you and that was my main account. So, I never ran it with my newest one. So, it alone kept me from ~6 commendations.
Anyway, aside from a single trip through each of the GE missions, pretty much all I did was run LZ bosses repeatedly (using two accounts on two computers). I bought 26 $1,500 GE caches. You were right xlastovi, the regular GE caches were junk this time or maybe I didn't pray enough to RNGesus. I usually recommend them for newer players (in my case new account) but well over half had only non-classy's and I think only one had a bonus item. Usually about every 7-10 at least will have a bonus item which is guaranteed exotic/classy. I also got ZERO bonus items from Field Proficiency Caches during the event. These were all atypical in my experience. I don't know what the deal was. But, on the good news, I already got a non-skill based LoneStar backpack. LOL
But, the LZ boss runs were very fruitful. I was able to finish off Deadeye with countless extras as well as Sentry's Call, which ironically are the two sniper sets I really don't use. I got 5 of the 6 Tac pieces and a bunch of other random pieces. I got a few Ninja bag's which I am already putting to use in a couple builds.
I mentioned very early after release of TD1 that I wished there was a +/- Rep(utation) you could give on a team mate. If it were public, that'd allow you to see instantly what people you are gaming with. But, I kind of see why they don't do that. However, I wish there was something like that even just for the player to see about the other members. Some aren't so bad as to block, but when they do like you are saying, it would be awesome if we could put in a small note too. But, that isn't going to happen unfortunately.
This. Literally the best advise I have seen posted about Div1 yet.
I ran this mission in matchmaking for maybe 2-3 hours the last 2 nights and maxed out my GE credits (10,000) 3 times.
Just pick up the loot, deconstruct during the loading screens of the elevators/mission loads, and run and gun.
I am probably close to 75 clears though it this week, and yes, it is.
I would rather have it to grind for GE than no GE at all.
What I really want to do is get a speed run group for Clear Sky. I saw speed run teams hit that well under 5 minutes for 900 GE. That's what I'm talking about!!
I play sometime after 6-6:30 each night to maybe 10 or so (CST) and whatever I can get away with over the weekend. I haven't ran CS much as the group that I ran with for the first few years of TD1 (day one player) hated it for some reason. So, I've ran it a couple dozen times, I am decent player on challenging with over 5k hours in the game and still climbing. All my builds are set up for solo challenging so they are stacked with health on kill which doesn't happen near enough on Heroic/Legendary. I haven't run it for probably 2 years. Still, if anyone wants to group and try it I'm down.
I don't know if it is the preferred method, but we generally did D3 or Nomad and once carried the items, then we ran down into the room underground. It was boring AF at that point, but once there it was straight forward.
