Rainbow loot is not problem, loot QUALITY is the real issue.
There's been a lot of discussion regarding rainbow loot, and how to fix it, but my experience in game (more 1500 hours played) tells me that the real problema is the terrible loot quality.
Before the last patch, that "improved" the loot quality, Nikki Kuppens showed us a graphic regarding Heroic loot quality, and how they would improved it, and two things were immediatly obvious:
1- The minimum (avarage) rolls are VERY low on Heroic (start at 60%);
2- There's a HUGE probability that the loot will drop with the lower possible stats (I think there was around 65% chance of getting between 60% and 70% power on drops).
This is TERRIBLE! This is the reason why rainbow loot is so anoying. Because the chances of getting close to max values are so low, that when we get them, being rainbow is like a punch in the stomach.
The color of the stats should remain the same as they are now (for people that want to make Hybrid builds), but the stats should be A LOT higher, so that we get a lot more drops with very high stats, to make up for the fact that there is allways a lot more probability of getting the stats that we don't want.
In MY opinion, there's only two ways to fix the this issue:
1- Optimazation table (I already made a post about that when the last PTS was active. https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthrea...the-next-patch!), but I'm sure that Optimazation will only (might) be introduced when TD3 is close to release;
2- Greatly improve the loot quality.
The loot should drop with higher stats, on all dificulties, with values something like this:
Legendary and RAIDs: 90% (or even 95%) of their power;
Heroic MISSIONS: 80% (or even 85%) of their power;
Heroic CPs and Heroic Elite Open World Activities: 70% of their power;
Heroic "normal" Open World Activities: 65% of their power;
Heroic Open World Friendly Activities: 60% of their power.
Also, the chance of getting a full GOD rolled item should be the same as the chance of getting the lower possible roll. By that I mean that shouldn't be that stupid "65%" chance of getting the lowest possible roll.
Ever since Walker Brand was introduced, I've been farming for a GOOD piece with Glass Cannon, and I still don't have it. Mostly because the ones that I got with Glass Cannon were either rainbow rolls, or very low stats.
I understand that great loot shouldn't be that easy to get, but the way it works right now, it's driving A LOT of players away from the game.
Devs keep making the same mistake, over and over and over again. They make us grind like crazy to get the builds that we want, and expect that will keep everybody playing FOREVER, but what happens is that players get bored, anoyed and disapointed, and when we stop playing, we're less likely that we'll return when new contente is avaiable.
