Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't touring cars actually, you know.... tour? From like city to city instead of doing circles in a track? The first crew did it right.

No, Touringcars is the official term for track based cars. Just google "Touring Car" and see for yourself.
Though I have to admit, the tracks for these cars are mostly boring and look the exact same. The only one that had potential to not be boring is greatly exaggerated though (Serial Jumpers).
Wouldn't mind some city tracks that offer immersion (barriers across the whole track and all that).
They're going to be in the same discipline, so yes. Just more vehicles to choose from (similar to how bikes work in StreetRace).
I am looking forward to the touring bikes but man oh man i hope they turn better then the street bikes.
I don't, because then we're back in the same situation we have with "Going Back to my Roots", "Mercedes X-Class Event", "Oldies But Goodies Challenge" and "Harley Davidson Red Rock Run" where people wish these tracks could be played unlimited with all vehicles (me included).
I won't mind new tracks though, but none should be limited.
TCs were misused in TC1. In TC2 we have HC class for the purpose of long distance racing on public roads.
HCs are street legal (at least when stock), built for public roads and highways and mostly focus on top speed. TCs arent street legal, usually too low and stiff for public roads and focus on downforce and track times.
I would prefer TC racing to stay on tracks to keep disciplines identity, but not necessary purpose-built tracks. City circuits https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_circuit can also be great so long as they look like actual city circuits, with proper barriers and w/o random parked cars all over the track.
