- [RESOLVED] The Division servers not available for Xbox players
Update, Sunday, February 16th: This issue has now been resolves since approximately 1:45 AM CET. Thank you for your patience and see you in New York, Agents!
Greetings Agents,
We are aware that Xbox players currently cannot connect to The Division servers and are seeing reports that problems occurred as early as last night. We are currently investigating what the cause of the problem is. I currently don't have an ETA when the servers will be available again but I will keep updating this post as I get more information from the team that is coming in to resolve this.
We apologize for the issue and thank you for your patience.
Technical details from our infrastructure guys:
"We've suffered a really weird and catastrophic hardware failure during last night which managed to hurt our infrastructure in -just- the right way as to cause minor data loss.
At this time we're trying our best to restore the data we have to a working site while attempting to debug what happened.
For the technical among you: Our databases storing certain account data have a binary-log volume, an OS volume and a "data" volume. All drives on the "data" volume, which is a raid-10 became failed (within 2s of each other), we failed over but the same exact thing happened 6hrs later on the backup machine.
Our third machine was not correctly replicating after the failover (it was still trying to replicate from the first instance) and it was not caught due to being 2:30/3am- We have a backup from the initial machine failure, so our previous "working set" of this account data is 1:44am. (Information such as uplay-account ID's, internal accounts ID's leaderboard progression and so-on)
Character progression is not harmed except for brand new characters that were made after 01:44am (CET) last night. Meaning if you picked something up in the darkzone before the servers died, you'll still have it."
