No more loot
What makes the game fun for me is that when I decide to farm a specific build I come up with, it only takes me two or three missions to get a piece of gear that I'm after.
So, with six gear slots, that might mean some 20-30 missions before the set is completed.
After that, I will of course farm for upgraded versions of the gear pieces I have. And every 10-20 missions I find an upgraded gear piece.
And once my gear is top notch, I might decide to switch to another build. Saving the current build is really not necessary, since farming for it doesn't take THAT long.
Well... that's at least how Diablo 3 works for me. And I still play it.
Division 2? Not so much. I've played well over 200 hours and I have not yet gotten all the pieces that I'm after for my build. And for the past couple of weeks I have not even gotten close to finding upgrades for the ones I have.
Just answering that "well, that's RNG for you!" is just telling me that this game has gotten RNG backwards. It's just punishing, not rewarding.
Maybe this has something to do with "loot tables" that I read about somewhere. Whatever... I just play now because I like the game. But since it feels like half a game I will most likely only stick around for half the time I could have.
