IMPORTANT PC EDITORMOD WARNING: Updating Far Cry 5 with the mod installed may not work properly; seems like at least uplay doesn't properly check the existing files to see if they match their expectation.
So be sure to run a "Verify Files" after the game update to verify the game has been properly updated.
After that, you can reinstall the mod & it works again. :)

do I install this in the folder with the FC5 exe in BIN, or the main farcry 5 folder under Uplay?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 5 here?
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Far Cry 5\bin< here?

Unzip into root Far Cry 5 folder. The zip has the folder structure with a bin directory.

Thank you, I got it working. Looks great.

Updated the mod, adding interactive/readable notes to help with storytelling&puzzle hints. Gave them an "unread" objective marker that disappears when read, and made them invisible so you can decide for yourself what you want read (newspaper, panel, letter, sign, etc).
Also added rotating generic shape cylinders. Combined with the various textures, you can add some movement effect to your maps. Cosmetic only; they don't affect physics objects.

That sounds awesome Steve, I know people have been asking about interactive notes practically since day one of the editor release. I'll download the update now!
EDIT: Ok, I've been trying out the interactive notes. Initially I thought we would be able to enter our own text :p, but I see that there's a whole slew of existing text from the game that we can use to piece together a narrative. That's a clever workable solution to getting the story telling aspect into our maps.

Yep, notes are limited to the default texts already used in the game. Possibly for multilingual purpose; players will get the notes localized in their own language automatically.
The texts are the same as those available to the mod's Set HUD Text Script Action, though I did remove duplicates based on English tongue.
Sometimes it's unfortunate that we can't fully customize objects from the object preferences tool, it's the reason I have to generate thousands of objects in the inventory. The Editor wasn't designed to handle those numbers of objects per category, but seems to be holding up, given enough processing time.

I've encountered a strange problem when I use this MOD. When I go to the Environment settings and choose any of the Backdrops they won't appear. Instead of that choosing any of the Backdrops will delete one random object from the map. I can't undo the deletion. When I leave the Environment menu the Backdrop setting turns automatically back to default.
If I start a new map there is not this problem. Maybe this problem is somehow related to Break Apart Grouped Object -tool as I have used it alot in this map and I had same problem with another map where I used this tool. I know this tool is EXPERIMENTAL what ever it actually means in practise. :) Maybe just this. :D
Does anyone has had this problem or does anyone know what actually causes it or how to fix it?
Edit: After doing some research I've noticed that the reason is not the Break Apart Grouped Object -tool. Some objects doesn't work with the Backdrops. Train Tank and in Generic Shapes all the wide triangles are causing this problem. I don't know if there is other objects too. When choosing a Backdrop it will delete some of these objects from the map as long as they are all deleted. When all these problematical objects are deleted then the Backdrops are visible again. Is anyone else able to test and repeat this?
-
I also noticed the backgrounds being sketchy. So far I've put off removing the additional ones from the mod (in favor of having some backgrounds spawnable), but I think I'll remove the backgrounds modifications from next release.
Haven't been able to pinpoint the cause of this as I don't know how to reproduce it from scratch, I'll try the Train Tank object now then. :)

Hey Steve, I also have this problem. One object I know has a problem with the backdrop. If you start an empty new map, place the Falls End water tower only. Then try to add the backdrop, I chose the first one "Alpine". The backdrop won't appear, but if you use the down arrow and scroll down the list the backdrop appears and the water tower disappears.
