I know for plenty veterans any sort of hill climb is a guaranteed Plat but for the average player it's not that easy.
I think Bronze should be at 56 meters, Silver at 110 and Gold at 150

Yeah I thought the same, and others did as well. On one of my first runs I made it just shy of 200m and thought it would be nearly plat, but gold for sure, and it was only silver. I'm all for a good challenge, but compared to other tracks and skill games this one isn't balanced at all.
I actually find the hill climb much easier to platinum than most of the skill games.
Oh I love how it is. You think you do good on a track, this game turns around and sh*ts on you and says that wasn't even half good. I admire that on Ubilynx's part. However, I saw Raon's WR run on it on YT and was disappointed by how the hill climb ended. Was hoping it would have gone on infinitely until becoming impossible (like Freefall from Fusion) but no, everybody that gets to the end is just goin to abuse the last jump tryin to get higher. HD/Evo was better.
I was underwhelmed by the hill climb. I had high hopes for an exciting and varied environment. Maybe I’m just not high enough to see that bit yet...
Just to get to silver is Extreme difficulty worthy.
Agreed, it goes on far too long and you can go at full tilt (more or less) for the first 50m's-ish and then suddenly decides to changes
The Crew, Fast and Furious style backdrop and the drab colour scheme really bore the hell out of me.
Give me Ice Climb any day; no nonense.. straight out with the skills and figuring out how to do it
Hey there,
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! :) We really appreciate hearing your thoughts.
Gone back and played both Hill and Ice Climb.
Personally, Ice Climb has an immediate and strong feeling of player empowerment about it regardless of how far you get. Whereas, that doesn't really start until after 30-40 seconds into Hill Climb; that's an entire level's worth play which doesn't even qualify for a Silver medal. Honestly, having to repeatedly trudge through that 30-40 seconds before things get interesting is demoralising and not fun.
The backdrop also makes a difference. Ice Climb has the player climbing up a mountainside that gives a logical sense/context of gaining height. Hill Climb has a non-descript cylindrical tower with a drab colour scheme and no real visual context as to how high the player is. The player has no sense of how high the tower is when compared a mountain which gives an immediate though of height etc.
I agree the medal levels are skewed on this. It actually took me longer to get Silver on the Hill Climb than it did to get Gold on Inferno V.
