This is a double edge sword that you ask. Yes, I have played this game for several years and got my money's worth. On the flipside, I have seen most of the problems and how they was poorly handled and not sure I will ever buy the sequel. With just over a month away and I am going to be playing a game I have waited for a long time to play. I don't see them having a solution to their problems and their need and desire to not be more open at this point is beyond comprehension. The fact the players are divided on just about everything and it is supported by Ubi and Massive, endorsed actually by their vision of the game. Their dazed and confused signals that they sent. Constant nerfing of weapons, gear, skills, and talents, yet they can't seem to fix nor stop themselves from continuing to work on the sequel long enough to fix this.
I agree with everything YodaMan said. The game as it sits now is a huge mess. Given Ubisoft's history and business model I don't think support for TD2 is going to be there. They can't balance the game and have to wait for Macrostyle to come out with video to know how to fix it.
I believe Anti-Cheat will be better than TD1 but that isn't saying much.
There are just too many games that are going to be released before TD2 is and if those are decent TD2 is going to bomb like most of said long ago.
I understand what Johan was saying about anti-cheat but it's the same rhetoric we've heard for the last 3 years. Anti-cheat is important, we're always listening, we can't tell you too much because we don't want to give our trade secrets away, we'll give you the information closer to the time. In truth, we never get any answers.
If I was so inclined i could download a 3rd party application and be aimbotting my way through the DZ inside 5 minutes, these applications have been around a long time.
I hope I'm surprised about anti-cheat but I have really, really low expectations.
It's a tough situation as providing all the information also provides a window of opportunity for those who want to abuse the system. This is not to say we aren't going to provide anything on the topic of cheating regarding The Division 2. As Johan said, when we get closer to release we'll have more. We do understand everyone's concerns and are relaying them to the guys.
@Johan and Amper, we understand players will abuse the system. It's the old we know they abuse it, you promise to tell us more later, and nothing happens. We get you ban players all the time, we don't see it. Some cases we see the same players cheating for months and nothing happens.
I believe when you say you are doing something, but we aren't seeing it. Which makes it hard to believe anything is getting done. Every update it gets worse. Many of us are on yourside, but feel punished for doing so, cause you don't trust us when you can't tell who it is abusing the system. Yet you guys will trust some YouTuber, who is doing it just to get likes and cares less for the game.
I understand that, I really do. We're not asking for trade secrets, in truth, few of us would even understand if you laid it all out for us. But that doesn't answer why the 3rd party programs are still available or why they haven't been blocked from the game. As a company Ubisoft have the resources to threaten legal action against these sellers much like Epic did for the Fortnite hacks. Also your hesitance to not name and shame is not really helping. If you've banned players, why don't you list them? If you have the info to ban them, let your players that don't abuse the system know. Once their ban is over ensure they have an icon showing they have previously been banned (if temporary).
I only say this as a fan of the game who wants The Division 2 to thrive for the fans that have stuck with a game that has a bumpy ride, please don't try and scrimp on anti-cheat measures just to make a few extra bucks.
@UbiAmper this is the same information we have been getting throughout the life of The Division. You say you have cheat methods in place but won't discuss them as this provides people with the information to counter them.
Clearly this has lead to many of us being uncertain as to what is actually in place and doubt if any anti-cheat is physically protecting the game or if you are relying on in game stats and player reports.
whatever is in place it has not worked as even though bans do take place they are not acted upon quick enough to prevent people from re-offending.
A quick internet search for another Ubisoft game Rainbow Six Siege provides this official link https://rainbow6.ubisoft.com/siege/e...countermeasure
A Ubisoft company can provide proof a anti-cheat is in the game. That is what we are asking for. Proof/Confirmation. Not the in's and outs out how it works.
This constant evasive manner tends to indicate yet again the lessons and complaints about cheating over the last 3 years have not been heard or learned.
Saying we will get more information closer may help hide the fact there is nothing in place and help pre-orders.
Yes i have pre-ordered the game and bought the ultimate edition. This gets me guaranteed access to the beta's however if i find out before launch there is no anti cheat i will be cancelling. Many other people i know are doing this also.
We are 6 months away and the game has apparently been in development since TD1 launch. Surely a decision has been made on what is going to be in place so why delay answering a question that is asked on the forums week in week out.
Best state imo was Pre-Classified in 1.7. Striker was the last, they've now nerfed the concept of DPS in the ground. It shows, badly, in PvP.
Until the meta isn't dominated by one weapon, don't ask me about my thoughts lmao
