I vote to keep increasing the list, due to the latest changes that brought new dynamics into Arcade. Mainly, being featured now doesnt have as much benefit as it used to. Featured maps don't show on the front page of the browse button anymore. Of course there is a button to play featured maps, but its not as important as it used to be now that highly rated maps are played equally. So the way the system is set up now, you have to make sure as creator to have a strong launch and people can be attracted to your level as long as you remain on the front page of the browse button, then if you manage to get a high enough score to enter the highly rated category, you ll get plays from there. If somehow you are still on the newest page and on the highly rated pages, then your plays will sky-rocket. This is the core focus for me, as maps that have achieved this have more plays that maps that have been featured.
Anyway, back on topic. Some featured maps struggle from ratings even though they are pretty good. These maps will get lost if they will be unfeatured, and that will be a shame. Highly rated maps dont really care if they get unfeatured, as they exist in top rated category anyway. That is the reason I voted to keep increasing the list, just so we dont lose those diamonds in the rough.

I think one page is too little as this would cause a lot of repetition. But 2 pages ranked newest to oldest (30 maps) is a decent amount. Remove anything older from 3rd page onward, if that makes sense.

Some recommended maps are very ugly.
Why are they recommended?

I think what you need to do is proactively remove cloned maps, especially when the original creators report them.
-
(That being said, we can either keep the list growing or start regularly unfeaturing older maps that are featured for over 2 months)
I think unfeaturing is pest way to keep Arcade live- .i think 3 months and then unfeaturing!

Problem is the memory hole.
How many times have I searched for a PREVIOUSLY FEATURED map that I couldn't play because it was UNFEATURED.
Many times.
I don't care if the page gets 9 scrolls long, it isn't the end of the world.
ALSO:
Why don't you start featuring maps with over 1000 plays and 3 stars.
That seems like a good metric, instead of having some intern arbitrarily pick them...why not let the community?
Or just pull the numbers on what maps players are hitting F and Manually Searching for.

Yeah some times good nice design and gameplay map makers made maps are only 3 or 2 stars, because kids voting them town.
Kids not like hard maps, kids like 5 minits pointless running jumping and shooting, like between wind and water.
All arcade target group is wrong, Arcade is targeted for kids, not for serious multiplayer player and map makers.
I see one PC map on any design of map- only containers and zombis, you must kill about 100 zombis.
Pointless and stupid map get wor kids and kid minded players 4 stars!!!!!!!!
that is arcade today!
One Ubi manager sayd me that ARCADE maps must be fun for everyone ( Shovel Doggers is fun map…)
But ok UBI you targeted FC5 ARCADE to everyone ( kids to), but is it FC5 for kids, no UBI have games for kids ,let kids play them!
Now the Arcade maps are for everyone and what we see most played higest rated maps are Shovel, Toys room....
kids are okkupayed ardade so cad multiplayer and serious multiplayer players moved on to serious multiplayer games.
UBI Arcade multy is like fast food ( hamburgers) everione likes them , put get sick of them……..
Ubi you cant do game like FC5 main theme targeted to FC fans and serious sand box games fans and then ARCADE targeted for kids!
Ubi look what is the most played multiplayer in Steam ( about more than 1 milj players per day PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS ), is that a universal youk of multiplayer or it is a serious multiplayer whit nice maps and kids are not playn that game…..
And one thing more- in multiplayer you can yump and runn, runn with yumping, is that real?
Ok you can yump in game, but not ynmping all game…….
Sow why UBI shots is own leg to make Arcade not multiplayer put a universal joke of multiplayer ( 6V6 playng serious tactical game Toys room9 :)

thanks guys for all your feedback!
I hope you didn't forget to actually vote in the poll too ;)

I would say un-feature the bad maps but unfortunately the statistics would show Shovel Dodgers as maybe the top map on consoles with the number of times played.
Star Ratings fall rapidly on maps once the creator and their friends have voted as we can't vote each time we play the map (it's good in one way because groups of friends could boost ratings but bad in the way that the map falls off the radar very quickly so Star Ratings can not be taken seriously also I could vote for a map then the author could take on board criticism and make the map amazing but we can't then alter the vote to reflect the changes)
There are some really nice maps and some very horrible featured maps I am sure we would all agree on that but one map I might like someone could hate and vice versa so there is no way to keep everyone happy that is impossible.

Yes, maps should be unfeatured but take the rating into consideration. Good maps need to remain featured, bad maps need to be delisted.
