Thanks for the kind words all! I've always loved the Hurricane so I'm giving this my best shot. I hope to build two more later on.
Avia turned out sweet Nickdanger. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif Love those colors!
Brilliant work as usual Low_Flyer. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif I don't think you need an airbrush when you paint like that! Amazing! I could never pull that off with a regular brush.
Nice work on the Hunter Romanator. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif The Hunter is an often overlooked subject for model builders. I've got the Huge Revell 1/32 Hunter for later. Looking forward to seeing yours come along.
Thanks for the book recomendation Friendly-flyer! I'll be picking that one up for sure. I've already got another 1/24 Trump Hurricane waiting to be built and another planned so it will come in handy for sure.
I want to build this photo recon Hurri but can't find pictures of the photo unit from below. I've got another profile to go with if this one should fall through though.

Progress for today. The fuselage is joined! Now the tedious part begins. I'll be filling in the seams and restoring rivets for the rest of the week. This kit has extremely good fit so it should go very smoothly. Once that is done I'll start on the landing gear bay and wings. Can't wait to put the Hispanos in. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif
Just some quick pics.

The cockpit door is removable for easy viewing of the pit. It came with a very nice photo etch map case too. I'm going to try and make some small maps to put inside. I'll have pics of it once I get it painted.

I could make a really nice hot rod out of that one! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...on_biggrin.gif Imagine some drag slicks on the rear and a blower sticking through the hood. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies...very-happy.gif I'll get me coat.

The Hurricane is really coming along nicely. I had no idea they were used in photo recon. Blue is a lovely paint scheme.
For a while I had been looking for suitable nose weight for my Hunter. The model shop had weights, but I would need a hack-saw to separate the bits. That's not possible for me at the moment. I considered using clay, but I settled on pennies. I realized there was plenty of space behind the cockpit for weight. I simply folded the pennies in half and since I don't have epoxy, I used bits of sprue to hold them in. Although it doesn't look it, they are very secure. Yeah, it is illegal to deface currency, but don't tell anyone http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif

I'll glue in the seat after final painting, but now I can glue the fuselage together! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...icon_smile.gif
Thanks Jagdgeschwader, when I bought the model I knew almost nothing about this plane. As it turns out, it's really quite interesting, and I am really appreciating its lines more as well.
I've laways had a soft spot for the Hunter. It ranks up there with such classics as the F105.
Here is a little video to inspire you. Even those who are not interested in jets will get a kick out of this. It starts with Hunters in a multitude of colors and markings taking off and then a huge formation fly past followed by high speed fly pasts and some aerobatics.

Neat video. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common.../icon_cool.gif
Always liked the Hunter too - lots of colour schemes if you get addicted Romanator. Looking good. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
Lovely Hurri pit - another work of art on the way. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
I thought of hot-rodding when I saw the body shape too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies...very-happy.gif At first thought an unusual vehicle, but would be at home in many dioramas from France to the end of the war, I can't stop thinking of that scene from 'The Great Escape' where James Coburn meets the resistance at the pavement/sidewalk cafe.
Getting used to Tamiya paint - not too enamoured of it's self-stripping capabilities, the previous coat must be just applied or very dry indeed, no middle ground. Smells like burning electric wiring too - maybe that's just me (and yes - I've checked the whole house out, it's the paint, I'm sure). Back to Revell for the panzer grey exterior.
Checked and double checked the 'tan' interior colour as recommended in instructions, looked a bit impractical, but they were requisitioned civvie cars, even most of the French army ones - reminded me of an old pub, so I tried a nicotine staining 'damp patch' effect on the ceiling, not too bad, most of it won't show when assembled (just as well with a bloody great Tamiya maker's mark there). I might leave a door or two open and have the officer figure (spare from the Steyr) with his meagre lunch spread out on a handkerchief on the Citroen's roof, looking sideways at the passing piggy. Dithering about having the notek light away from the Dragon T-34, I've got refs of the Citroen with and without, might be nice finishing touch.

How much time it take you to finish one plane? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common...s/icon_eek.gif
The last kits I made took me between 2 and 4 month, but I really don’t know how many hours.
For my next project I’m going to try to build this kit recording the number of hours that will take me to finish it.
So far I was able to spend 45 hours in the last two weeks (and I usually don’t have that much spare time!)
This is what I accomplish so far: (It’s a 1/32 Trumpeter Hellcat f-3)
