I see. While we're on the subject, just how does stagger work in this game? That's one aspect I feel like I've never really understood. (Along with Threat, but that's a whole other story...) lol

Stagger makes your target "flinch"
The higher the stagger, the greater the aim disruption the target experiences.
Base Flinch has been significantly reduced on all weapons for PvE and PvP in update 1.6.1. i
It's not as effective as before, but It is still noticeable in PvE and PvP.
Maybe if you're trying to squeeze your way into a lower DZ bracket? Dunno, I don't go in there but maybe that was his rationale. Also, the thing with Determined, you don't need to get the kill with the pistol itself, you could throw out seekers or whatever, and as the enemy is about to die, switch to the pistol and get your cooldown bonus. But...I agree, other than possibly because of trying to drop DZ brackets, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't just do that with a gold 229 or 204 pistol.
Coolheaded synergies well with determined.
Blue weapons don't require Phx credits to reroll.
The normalization in last stand and skirmish scales up the blue pistol.
It's your call. It works for me quite well. I get my alt much quicker. It's better than the golden rhino.
Ahh, ok didn't think about the Phoenix Credits aspect. I guess if you do a lot of PVP, then that method would make a lot of sense. Personally I don't, so no real reason to do that for PvE, even considering the PC cost, since they're pretty plentiful these days and there isn't really much to spend them on. (I'm constantly having to go around and buy up blueprints that I have no intention of ever using, just to keep myself under the limit.)
