The Biggest problems I have with Far Cry 5's Singleplayer
The title speaks itself, so this is gonna be some sort of review for the game, as I've just put hours into it. Also it's gonna be a little nitpicking.
The repetitive, even boring Villains.
Look, I love Vaas from Far Cry 3 and have mixed feelings about Far Cry 4's Pagan Min, but this is getting out of hand. Four charismatic psychopaths are a little too much. Vaas was memorable because he was kinda, how to say, special and unique back in 2012. Having four crazy antagonists in one single installment just makes all of them feel the same and ironically destroys the uniqueness. I feel disappointed.
Also, the way they magically get their hands on me after every Resistance Checkpoint is just lame. I get caught, I escape, they do it again. What the hell?
The downgraded takedowns
One of the most amazing aspects of previous games is the sweet, sweet takedowns. Admittedly they make you look like bloodthirsty superheroes but they are fun to do. The ones in Far Cry 4 were a little too much but the diversity and awesomeness were undeniable. I kinda feel sad when there are fewer way to stealth kill enemies with style in Far Cry 5, not to mention some takedowns do not work as they should be (I'm looking at you, sidearm takedown).
The questionable gun collection
It's okay I guess to have melee weapons here, but my arsenal in the game is, compared to other Ubisoft titles and even previous Far Crys, underwhelming. There are fewer than 7 (if I remember correctly) in each category, and even then, some of them are the same. Two AKs and they have the same stats. What? What's the point of the same guns but reskinned?
Another issue is the lack of attachments. There are no laser pointers, no grenade launchers,.... I know there are other weapons with the same purposes, but I still feel cheated, especially after I crawled through Ghost Recon Wildlands.
What do you guys think?
