Firearms Rebalance Suggestion
I have a suggestion for weapon rebalance in the game to make it far more realistic and provide a better overall experience. I recommend this rebalance for all platforms and it should just be a minor fix.
To start the power output of most rifles in the game is a bit off. I find that a bow will take out most enemies and animaIs with a single hit but rifles are far less effective. I am a certified firearms owner and have used and experienced most of the rifles in the game in real life.
The AR-C is accurate with the damage and accuracy.
The 45/70 needs an increase in damage at close to moderate range. to about 100 meters. Since the 45-70 round generally is a slow but heavy round it has excellent up close energy and damage output but severly drops after a certain distance. ( Damage= 8 Range= 5)
The MS16 needs to have a damage output and range increase. The M14 this rifle is based off of uses .308 rounds and they also have great power and better range. Also since this isn't a dedicated sniper rifle I recomend an automatic setting for this rifle with a similar rate of fire to the M60 in game. ( Damage= 7 Range= 8 Rate of fire= 5 with automatic)
The AK-47/AK-M is again a powerful rifle up close but has a much more limited range with the 7.62x39 round than the AR-C/ AR-15 Which uses the .223 round, which is faster but less powerful. ( Damage= 5)
Moving on to sniper rifles the AR-CL needs an increase in accuracy, with a longer barrel and i would assume a thicker one this rifle should have a great advantage in accuracy over the others. (Accuracy= 9 Range= 8)
The .308 Carbine is no slouch in the hunting and target shooting fields. This rifle should have a higher damage output and a bit more range. Since it is not a semi automatic like the MS16 none of the energy from the bullet is needed to cycle the firearm. realisticly it wouldn't make much difference but there should be more advantge to using this rifle over the MS16. ( Damage= 8 Range= 8)
Finally the MBP .50 is a gun enthusiasts dream to say the least, right out of the box this rifle is capable of incapacitating an unarmourd vehicle if aimed at the engine with a single shot. It far excedes the damage and range of any other rifle in the game and it should reflect that with a higher damage and range rating of course without blowing up a car in a single shot. (Damage 9 or close to 10. Range= 10)
With all of that being said the physical bullet speeds and drop needs to be better reflected with the rifles and pistols being used. I find it odd that a .50 BMG has the same speed as the 45-70 even though they are two totally different beasts. At least that is what appears to be the case through observation.
Lastly I would like to request that the animals have a lower damage resistance in vital areas, shots taken to the chest and rib cage area ( heart and lungs) should put the animal down in seconds. Usually a bear won't run far with a well placed round from a .308 or 45-70 in the heart and lungs. while i know that you did include the fact that the animal will go down eventually when wounded, it should not be able to run very far with a good lung shot and not at all with a heart, neck or head shot. Of course Damage resistance will differ for each animal but only the largest should have some resistance. Such as grizzly bear moose and bison.
Thank you for reading this long request and I seriously hope you will forward this to the Far Cry 5 development team and urge them to consider my rebalance proposals. I strongly believe that this will improve gameplay and reduce frustration that i hear from gamers that the rifles don't pack the punch that they sound like they should. ( they do sound excellent by the way!)
