Plane controls on keyboard/mouse
I have been trying for 3 hours to beat the "Spray and Pray" race mission. I use mouse/keyboard. I have watched YouTube videos of people completing the missions and I notice that A) they seem to be able to yaw without rolling and B) Since I roll when I turn, the nose drops crazily making the plane incredibly tricky to control (and hit the tighter turns, around the island for instance).. How are people yawing without rolling and how are they turning without the nose dropping precipitously? Driving me crazy.
Are the people in the videos using a controller? I always play FPS with mouse/keyboard because aiming with the mouse feels more natural .
Any tips?
Spray n Pray troll mission
Yep. :( I've been mostly loving this game, but feel I've been trolled hard for the last 90 minutes attempting the spray n pray airplane race. I don't know if it's better on controller but I'd image it would be easier with joystick than this WSAD. Either way, this is the least controllable airplane I've ever attempted to fly in a video game.
I can understand a challenge, but the mission is trolling hard because:
1. You cannot get out of it unless you ALT-F4.
2. You cannot adjust the controls between attempts. With the weirdly unresponsive/ then hyper responsive WSAD controls I thought maybe an adjustment would help? Probably not but maybe. W and S seemed reversed to me for what I'm used to, but can I change it? Nope. Cannot leave mission even between failure attempts.
3. 20+ seconds of loading screen between every attempt. Yes, older CPU. No you cannot stop the mission. You cannot "untrack" or whatever might give relief. Nope, here you go again with that loading screen, then OMG that song.
4. If I have to listen to that cheese-rock tune again today I might have to hurt something
I was going to play for several hours but I'm afraid to go back in after an ALT-F4, which is apparently the ONLY way to stop the misery.
Ok, that was rage inducing. But I want to counter that overall this game is dang good. I'm most impressed with the beauty of the environment and that arcade where anyone can create maps and share them. I expect a lot of awesomeness to come out of that.
