Mission "Wrath", shooting down John Seed's plane... impossible?
I'm on the mission "Wrath", where I have to shoot down John Seed's plane. I've tried several times (on Easy!) and just can't do it. The best I've gotten is to give it about 2/3rd damage and then either we collide or my plane blows up. Is there some simpler way to beat this mission. I cannot quit the mission so right now I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
OK, I finally got past this mission, when the third time I collided with John's plane, instead of just restarting the mission, it put me back in my plane with John's plane destroyed. I guess the game final felt sorry for me
Is this mission broken?!?
So the plane I started the mission in was taking damage and about to blow so I had to bail out and parachute to the ground.. At first, John Seed was dive-bombing me and I used my LMG and .50 cal sniper with standard/armor-piercing rounds to little effect (His plane still had about 3/4 of it’s health left when I ran out of ammo and was quickly overwhelmed by swarms of cultists.) When i respawned I fast traveled to a nearby shop to refill my ammo and replace my sniper rifle with the RPG. Now John is flying in circles 300-400 yards in the air and won’t come near me.. I haven’t done Nick Rye’s mission yet so calling him in is out of the question, the original plane I started the mission with at Seed Ranch isn’t respawnibg, and I don’t have money to go buy a weaponized plane either. WHAT CAN I DO?!? (I’m playing on medium difficulty and would rather not switch it to easy if I don’t have to as I like a good challenge, but this is just ridiculous).
John lost control of his plane
Same happened to me. I didn't have the chance to start depleting his health bar. I was just starting again in a new plane when I heard him in panic on the radio. He said he was about to crash and some peggies even said "John's plane has crashed". It wasn't the case yet and DESTROY turned into GET as I was flying behind his plane about to land. I constantly shot the machine gun at him and when I almost crashed during landing, the mission was validated. I didn't have to shoot him on the ground as he was already dying on the ground when the cinematic started right after the success of the Wrath mission.
I thought it was an alternative for those, like me, who had failed many times.
