Are you still seeing this issue or can you now play the game? The first thing we'd advise is closing and re-opening Uplay.
You may need to empty the Uplay cache, via the steps here

I kept getting this error message but then I realized my VPN was on. I turned off the VPN and launched DX version and it booted up normally. UPlay doesn't like VPNs.
Well, I've just unsuscribed to Uplay+ . The problem is simple. My internet connection is working perfectly, AC Origins and Odissey have been working ok until today and I didn't change any settings on Windows, is probably is an Ubisoft problem, that happens often, and not only to me. I'm fed up really about it so as I still have about 3 weeks of suscribtion to Uplay+ I can't close the account yet but I will do it inmediately the cancelled suscription is over. .
I'm experiencing this issue currently and I have followed the instructions presented but it has failed to work.
Same problem, i own the game. Tried verifying. deleting caches, deleting spool files, closing down and restarting all aplications and computers. and still cannot play this game i own
I think that the servers are going haywire rn, im in the same situation as you and I unfortunately think that we're gonna have to wait until its all sorted :(

Same here have tried everything and was just playing Primal within the last few days with no issues.
Least it appears its not our pc but something on Ubisofts side.

Having this problem too now. Guess I'm just gonna have to pirate Ubisoft games from now on. Pisses me off greatly to not be able to continue a game I own.

I have exactly same issue, I bought the game yesterday, I runned it around 10 times today to check if my CPU overclock is stable and suddelny I couldn't run it anymore due to the error.

Yeah, I had tried some of those steps. Clearing cache of Ubi Connect, reinstalling both Ubi Connect and the game, clearing windows registry keys related to Ubisoft, but it simply doesn't work, game refuses to run and throws an activation error.
Go to your search bar, type 'vpn' access the pc settings. Disable the 2 vpn buttons.

Please make sure AFTER you have installed your game
Go to https://ubisoftconnect.com/ and install the updated version of UBI CONNECT / Steam does not provide this with the game files on games that shipped more then 1 month ago as yes they do UPDATE UBI CONNECT QUITE OFTEN \and yes steam may install an out dated version with your game files .

ALWAYS WRITE DOWN THE E MAIL and password you use when creating any online account and store it in a safe place , your games will be bound to that account ..
AND make sure you back up your save files MANUALLY if you have other ubi titles installed

..as well as RESTART your PC , <(ALWAYS REBOOT)> relaunch STEAM and UBI Connect and try your game again.

I had the same issue and none of the tutorials or suggested help worked for me. I then proceeded to go on uplay and settings and unlinked my uplay to my steam. I then task managered everything that was associated with steam and uplay. I double clicked far cry 5 off the desktop icon and waited. Ubiosft/uplay then asked for my details and it loaded. I hope this helps :D

I messed up during the update and i had this message came up. I cleared the catch after reallocated the game on my pc ( Connect asked for it )
I could do the update again after. Reinstall or anything else did not work.
