same here work fine yesterday but crashed with the stripers fight went to sleep and now it won't launch
I am having this same issue. I bought the game last night on steam, installed it and played it just fine for a couple hours and then went to bed. When I went to play this morning the game would not launch.
My Steam and Uplay accounts are linked
I've tried launching through steam, uplay and the .exe itself. Admin mode and compatibility mode (And a host of combinations)
I've cleared my steam cache.
I've exited and restarted steam and uplay.
What the hell can I all of a sudden not play my game? Nothing has changed on my computer in the four or five hours it's been off.
Wow bought this game last night, played it for 2 hours?
It wont launch today, not matter where I click play.
Also, Why do I have to enter a captcha when I'm typing on the forums for TECH support? Are you guys a serious company or just like to piss off customers?
I had the same issue after today's update, clearing the UPlay cache seems to have fixed the not starting problem.
Same thing everything work fine untill today, try many thing (got on steam) i check game integrity everything fine, restart pc, check graphic card update all the routine nothing work, try to re-install same thing nothing work, this could be great when we start a game on steam we dont have to launch uplay, that provide many bugs, i remember got many issue when play black flag too and always seem to be the uplay causing it :(

After experiencing the same issue UbiVertigo's suggestion of clearing the Uplay cache worked for me.
