Hell yeah we need a sword and shield knight.
Hell yes!
Gimme plz
sounds cool
Should have been introduced before cent and this valkyrie rework called gladiator ;b
I had my own sort of idea for this but a little different.
Man-at-Arms
Has a mace (not to be confused with flail) and a small round shield (not quite buckler size) and wears a Gambeson and Caleta Helmet.
Hybrid type of Assassin and Heavy.
Has a regular guard more like Conq than Glad but can deflect under an opponent and click GB (Berzerker like style) to lock an opponents weapon arm with own shield arm and allow for a couple free mace hits. Give him no unblockable swings but high chip damage (30-40%, maybe 50 but that's a little greedy) and variable attack timings (think Cent and Shugo heavies) but have a sort of charge level like the old Conq. Hyper armor after heavy attack startup but none otherwise.
Can infinitely chain heavies left and right with a top heavy finisher. Allow charged heavy and heavy finisher to be fainted into a GB, gets no free heavy on GB unless throws opponent into a wall. Make throw distance about average like Warden.
This is just a concept, could make it into a full thing and slap into the Creations section. What do you all think?
Not fixated on a sword and shield as such (though one would be nice) as much as in not adding yet another culture to the mix. I would take another Roman though preferably after one or two more traditionally themed knights.
Yes and no. Do I want a knight with a heater shield? Yes. But I liked this game back when it was quasi-realistic if somewhat historically sci-fi what with the horned vikings and honorabu samurai. Of course, that was before they dismissed the ACTUAL ninja (orochi) and put in some special-ed running Naruto meme with farming equipment for weapons and magical smoke powers. I mean hell, even the Gladiator is a Gladiator (or, well, several that tripped into a blender). And when it really comes down to it, we already have ConqeuRAH for that, don't we? Shield and Mace? Except for some reason (I know, he's a convict, and they're generally not scholars), he's put a chain in between the business end of his weapon and the handle, all the better to take one off the dome himself by accident.
What I'm getting at is that heavily armored knights only had swords as second or even third weapons, because swords are totally ineffective against armor. I'd prefer a mace or warhammer, but at the same time; A - It's not like the Vikings are big on that "clothing" stuff in-game, and B - it's not like anyone else with a bladed weapon has any trouble turning armored enemies into paste.
Meh, we have Conq. Give us a different weapon entirely.
