Welcome to the forum!
I think it is a decision based on immersion and i personally prefer it that way.
Having the ability for "auto-drive", as we had in FC4 would be good, but to have it in FC5 where we could man the turret (and be auto-driven) would be good as well.
you wouldn't even want the option to do so?
and why is that?
Sorry i didn't read it through - if it's optional no problem. It would please a larger audience.
I don't want the option. I like that Far Cry has stuck to strictly being a first person game 100% of the time. Also MikeJDRW, now with guns for hire, you can get in the turret and a GFH you have will hop in and you can set a waypoint or command them to a spot & they'll drive there, pretty sweet!
Actually I was playing FC4 the other night and got into a turretted vehicle with a soldier driving it, got into the turret and was able to gun while she drove. It worked very well! Should be implemented by the devs.
Why don't I like the way the camera looks when you get in a car in first person view?
Well- this isn't just a Far Cry Problem - next time you get in your car in the real world, notice how you can see the whole windshield, plus a little bit of the windows on the door of your car. this doesn't happen in Far Cry, you see a rectangle that cuts off any peripheral vision, I guess if they developed a sort of non distorted fish eye type of thing I'd be alright with it, but because of this I would just prefer to see what's around me while i'm driving, therefore Third Person. even just the option would be awesome. I'll use GTAV as an example, i loved shooting in FP but hated driving in it but I LOVED having the option to switch.
