I actually am willing to give it another chance, but the thing is, I have to be able to see that they've learned from the mistakes of the past. So far, I see no evidence that they're taking the failure of the Desmond saga into account, because they're doing the exact same thing they did in AC1; a tiny little trail of cryptic clues and hidden messages without anything concrete holding them together. Only this time, they're going in a completely new direction despite having ten years' worth of unresolved subplots tied around their ankles, so to speak; it doesn't exactly inspire confidence that they're actually going somewhere with this.
If the story continues like that, I'm never going to really dig my teeth into a juicy lore discussion thread like this again, because inevitably, Sorrosyss' analysis will be better than whatever the writers come up with. The fans are looking for an endgame, whereas the devs/producers are looking to make this series last indefinitely.
