I want to start by saying I'm not one of those players that completely refuses to set foot in the DZ. I like the dark zone fine but I probably spend less than half of my game time in there. There are a lot of players who play this game every day and maybe go in the DZ once per week (or less ). Are there going to be any leaderboards outside of the DZ? It sure doesn't look like it and I think that's BS honestly.
There could be mission time leaderboards. I see a lot of videos on youtube of people solo clearing challenging missions with fast times. Why can't that be recorded and give rewards too? Before you start a mission it could tell you the global best time to beat. There could be leaderboards for most proficiency caches earned in a week or the most underground xp earned. Named boss kills could count inside and outside the DZ. Most items extracted from survival? Total survival score over a week? Highest kill count including all npcs and all players in any activity? Total number of items deconstructed? Total damage dealt?
I could probably think of about 100 more if my lunch break was longer but the point is there should be leaderboards outside the DZ. Right now I have a couple cool solo builds that can do challenging missions with really good times.. but what's the point? Nobody will ever see my best time so I may as well matchmake a team and do it a bit faster. Leaderboards can also help devs with balancing because it's easy to see that one item or skill is overpowered when pretty much every single person placing on the leaderboards is using it.
It seems like you would have to be one of the players who exclusively plays in the DZ to make it onto the leaderboards and that's BS for hundreds of players who don't even like the DZ. A couple of my friends have not played any other game mode since survival came out. Are they ruled out of the leaderboards completely because they really like to play the DLC... that they paid extra for?!?
