Sometimes those manhunts make it worth the loss of near half a level. Last time I went manhunt, it took 10 non-rogues to finally take us down. Long *** battle. We only lost because we stupidly ran towards a safe house, and they had some player that kept 1 shotting us, so we had to keep reviving, slowing us down.
Totally agree these battles can be fun, but its so sporadic... you might get another in an hour or in 4 days. Most manhunts just gank lone players or simply over power lower geared groups who have their backs turned concentrating on mobs, its rarely a competitive fight.
Imagine how rewarding the game would be if you was guaranteed a competitive fight, now keep imagining... because it isn't a setting in this game.
Since there aren't any missions of any sort in the Dark Zone, going rogue is all that's left to do once you get your DZ level maxed out, and jack your armor score through the roof. The unfortunate thing for the rest of us that haven't reached either of those points, is that we're so vastly overpowered without people cheating, that toss in the cheating and it's a total joke. Putting someone with an armor score of 161 into a game while playing it straight, against 4 people jacked to the tits in armor over 210 and running in a gang of 4, and it's nothing short of bullying. Hell...just exiting the DZ at the end of a session the other day, some new players came in through the same door we were exiting, and despite being only 10-15 meters from the door, railed us in an eight of a second and laughed about it. At a certain point, the DZ really leaves nothing for anyone to do except be ****heads, more or less.
You are ofcourse right. Apart from the lack of screen fidelity and the clunky controller I do count myself lucky to be on ps4 when I hear about all the cheating on pc.
100% agree, its why many of my friends quit and have gone back to Destiny. There simply is no competitive balance and for every amazing fight you have, you'll have days of boring ganking. I get why they wanted to do the Dark Zone, but its been nothing but a complete failure in my opinion.
When the DZ is hacker free, it can be a lot of fun.
Hopefully you find a few more good battles.
