14 days until they come back to hack again...
Erm, this is great and all but Streamerhouse (Crusader) was exploiting the hell out of Falcon Lost for days......
Anybody think these hackers actually care about taking 2 weeks off?
Anybody think they might just hack their way back into the game?
Anybody think that when they do return they will do so with a vengeance and hack the game even harder?
Curious if anyone actually thinks temporary bans do anything other than motivate the player to try harder.
Link to stream?
Let's look at this for what it is, Massive showing some presence. This is what we were lacking, people were hacking because they knew no one was getting banned. Hamish taking some of these guys out is a start and will show these people, is it worth it? Do you want to risk your account? I say kudos.
ban is all good and fine BUT they should STRIP the acct of all items / stash and all make them naked and no cash then see what they try to do ....
Has anyone figured out what a temporary ban does for hackers in a game thats not based off monthly subscriptions?
You dont need their money, they are griefing honest players
PERMA BAN THEM - What is a temp ban going to do for a cheating scumbag, you think he gonna take those 14 days and wallow in guilt?
No wonder people hack the **** out of this game, there's no repercussion at all
Yeah, hit and miss here at work with twitch. bah.
Are they offline or something? Phone isn't even playing it.
Funny, they just get Oddshots of bullets going threw multiple walls from distance, speed hacks, etc.
Massive/Ubisoft just needs to have someone dedicated to watch the streams on PC and ban them within in 2 minutes.
Funny each time they get someone.
6 players temporarily banned so far.
14 day bans LOL. Way to get tough UBI! /sarcasm off. Seriously though, too little too late. Whoever is making these decisions on discipline for hacks/exploits is literally flushing your IP, that you've invested millions in and have long term plans for, down the toilet. Too bad because the core gameplay if fun.
I'm not saying i'm not happy now something is happening, it's a good thing but the fact that they need to 'hunt' hackers while playing the game says enough about their so called anticheat they say they implemented. (At least that's what our CMs want us to believe). It also tells us 'hunting' them while being 'ingame' is the ONLY solution till now and i am now pretty hardheaded in my hopes there will ever be a better anticheat going to be implemented.
What they did is completely useless... They just stayed in one server the whole time and only got 5 people banned.
Their gameplay is so lame just killing PvE mobs at level 90+. If they really want to make a difference they have to do more constant pvp and switch servers.
If that doesn't happen, those whole "Hacker Hunter" crap is pointless.
I mean its a start. But I think its just a publicity stunt to get people tricked into believing they are actually gonna keep this going. Why else would they do it on a major stream? They could just start doing it one day and keep on doing it and people would be happy. This just screams fishy to me. I've trusted Ubisoft to many times in the past. I'll believe it when there are bans being handed out daily.... Not just on one single stream.
Good job for banning the hackers but why not ban the glitchers too?
People like the very ones streaming this and LOTS of other streamers used glitches to farm CM's and Falcon Lost to get crazy good gear and then take it into DZ.
So they glitched/exploited and now have a huge advantage over those of us who didn't exploit our way into lots of 240 pieces and tons of credits and 999 of all mats in the recent couple weeks. (Hornet, FL Weekly etc etc..). Makes it pretty crappy for those of us who tried to play legit...
So the takeaway from this is that it's OK to glitch and exploit bugs to your hearts content and use all those ill-gotten gains in the DZ...?
Man the DZ is rough lately. If it's not a hacker its someone in 220+ gear score with crazy dps and hp running around 4v1'ing everything.
What a MESS! :nonchalance:
This is what I was getting at.
If anyone thinks suspending .0001% of the hacking population will make a difference is truly ignorant.
The simple fact that the DEV'S have to hunt down rogues in their own lobby versus using tools on their own servers to detect and remove them just shows how inept they are when it comes to hackers.
Is this a joke? The devs are following streamers to catch hackers? WoW. What a mess. So they say they cant tell us that they banned someone when we report hackers through the reporting tool, because of whatever legal reasons they have, but they can stream that same information? WTH is going on? Just wow. Not to mention that it seems to take days or whatever to process your ticket as they have to "verify" people hacking but Hamish can do it instantly? So why cant the tickets get resolved like this. See a video ban the hacker? It seems to work on the stream just not with submitted tickets?!?! Again double talk.....
I can understand the 14 ban for this, as there really isn't any real research going into it to determine if someone is hacking or of latency plays a part in it. A lot of the floating characters, teleporting, and speed runners aren't always hackers, just someone with a crap connection somewhere in the world. I'm sure they will go back on these 14 day bans and do more research and add more time or less on it depending on what they find.
this is like a slap in the face to all of us players trying to trudge our way into the hack fest that we know is the DZ.
I doubt anyone is getting banned in the first place. if they are banning people this shows nothing but you have to hang out with a dev to be able to play the game. so stupid.
also these guys are using the back pack glitch and the reckless glitch. so what about people exploiting? I guess its ok if you now the lead dev.
There is no such thing as crazy dps AND high HP in the current DZ. Everyone is a glass cannon. They buffed our ability to pump out way more dps but didn't touch our armor or health stats to compensate. It's not hard to take these people out especially 4v1.. if the four man squad is loosing to a guy that gets put down in 6 sentry headshots than that group is doing something majorly wrong. I mean hell all they have to do is drop 1 shock turret and it's over for the solo guy - everytime. My friend and I rogue hunt together and have 1300+ registered rogue kills.. we have seen it all and there is no one running around with a god mode DPS and health setup. 100k health vs 70k health is literally the difference of 3 bullets.. 120k health? add 2 more bullets. If they have that much health they do not have massive dps or electronics to boost their pulse.
I run around with 220k/80k/27k and find that my electronics is why I am beating others in groups. My pulse and healing are brutally strong and the talents on my guns allow me to do 24% more damage when inlow health (just pop a survival link while low health) and you are an absolute monster. I also know how to properly use talents to best support my build/play style.
Majority of my gear is from hardmode incursions. I have run it probably 50+ times. You don't need 240 gear by any stretch to be a monster in the DZ. I've run into guys running zero gearset pieces and they were some of the longest battles I have endured.
Hell I've been wiped out by a solo 161gs player when he dropped a turret. Suddenly my DPS/Heath/Electronics all mean squat when a damn turret is introduced. Pretty much all you need to wipe out a high GS player or any player for that matter. Stupid shock turrets needs a huge nerf.
You guys are so "all or nothing".
Your way or no way.
You are never happy no matter what.
Hopefully you just leave the game and the forums so the rest if us can actually enjoy out time here.
There's no pleasing you. You don't even like the game .
You're 100 percent correct. From what I've read on other web sites there are ALOT of people that simply play games to FIND exploits. They think it helps their fellow gamers but in the end all it does is make the legit players gaming experience miserable. Everytime glitches/exploits are discovered the devs have to find a solution, obviously such as in this case, but the problem comes in with the time it takes for the solution. By now there are probably thousands of people that have cheated and now have every HE item in the game, a high level score, and are unbeatable in the DZ. I don't know how Ubisoft will fix this ultimately, but these temp bans will only cause those that have been banned to be even more energetic in their pursuit to screw all the rest of us.
Every non-permanent ban of a hacker is a fail. They do not care about temporary bans. They are a direct threat to the longevity to the game and do NOT care about being productive community members. They won't come back and "behave". At least they are starting to do something about it, but giving out more temporary bans is not a viable solution.
The first episode of Hacker Hunters! :P 9 banned thanks to Hamish helping us out!
Huh...They're saying there is some EU law saying that can't perm ban someone for first offense. That doesn't sound real....
What's so wrong with permanently banning them?
This is just massive trying to cover up for the fact that their game, at a fundamental level, was not designed for PvP in mind. Maybe that's what happens when you base your game off of GRFS and AC Unity (and if anyone hasn't noticed, they draw heavily from those two games, even the way their free roam/DZ groups work is similar to Unity).
