Would it not be reasonable to inform the OP why the thread was closed or is this just 'we don't want this post being seen' or something else?

Yes they owe it to the OP and the rest of us to explain why the thread was locked. They do it on all the other forums I go on and so far this is the only one. If the OP violated some part of the forum rules then the moderator should be saying what his violation was so that we all know.
well, i posted about a video that show someone doing the dps glitch, and guess what... i got a naming and shaming infraction !!! ha ha ha...
funny thing is, i didn't name and shame anyone, there's no "name" on the video. not even the player name...
but natchai is giving me an infraction warning, lolololol !!
so yea, i gonna get banned faster then the hacker/glitcher. gratz ubisoft. banning legit player, and letting the hacker/glitcher/exploiter go free.
he must be embarrassed
Your thread that was closed was nothing but a witch hunt, that's only purpose was to complain about something you read on the mans twitter.
You do realize, that all he does is relay information that he has been given. He is not involved in the decision making process at all. He could feel exactly as you do, but all he can do is pass on the information that he gets.
Also, forums are not the Free Press. These forums are privately owned. You only have the rights that they allow you to have. Mods can delete/close/merge threads for any reason they see fit. How you feel about it does not matter.
If you want to express your feelings and not worry about them being moderated, then go start your own blog and complain all you want.
Hell, if you have enough words, pictures, and the proper formatting. You could get your opinions posted on Forbes as an article. Since Forbes does not bother to fact check anything posted in their gaming section. They also are not concerned if the article is fair and balanced.
A news article is to tell the truth as it is interpreted by the writer, editor and publisher. You may not agree and some facts as you see them may not have been available at the time of the writing. And the Forbes article reads like the guy had played the game on the PC and never went near an Xbox or PS4.
Witch hunt!? That's your interpretation!
The thing is; and the reason for this thread is when closing a thread it would be helpful to have some indication as to why!
I know the guy has a job to do and I don't envy it. I also wouldn't expect him to have all the information but no matter if it were his words or the words of somebody above him - it's still conveying the same message. Just closing the thread does not really help the community does it? The right to close threads wasn't even brought into question, simply the manner by which they decide to!
edit: oh and not even sure where the Forbes reference came into the subject!
Natchai isn't the only one closing threads.
This is not needed.
Closing.
