As long as they don't base it on real events then i think this would make another spin off game. Maybe two rival tribes are isolated on an unexplored chunk of land, and the usual chaos ensues.
I think it sounds like a better idea for assassin's creed than far cry...
Far Cry: Middle Ages, full armour sword fighting and jousting on horse back! Plus castle sieges with trebuchet etc :)
Whilst all this forum speculation and the ideas about the next Far Cry is grand, I would love to see them continue to support Primal with additional DLC expansion content and patches first. It seeems a bit soon to leap into the next timescape when the potential of these primal times is far from exhausted.
It does not have to be tomorrow ofc. I mean there is a good 9000 years between primal and the vikings. ;)
Please No!! Stop the whole Far Cry with swords and shields.. Its not Far Cry. Primal was great because it remained with the core values of the franchise. Vikings and middle ages is Assassins Creed not Far Cry.
Ever hear the phrase too much of a good thing? Thats what you're suggesting basically. Ubi already cross pollinates their mechanics across multiple games too much as it is, last thing we need are fans supporting & actually suggesting such behavior continue!
Play kingdom come deliverance if thats what you want....
Right? Why are all these dudes thinking they should make a FarCry in those settings.... eeech. Those are more appropriate for different or even new franchises, no reason to shoehorn it into a FarCry game....
I just don't get it. The developers did once a setting without guns and now everyone is going crazy with swords, shields etc. and think all the upcoming games have to follow this trend. Primal was the spin-off year, however, the next game should return to the modern day era with a proper arsenal with guns (and nothing recycled from 3 or 4). Regarding the setting it would be great to revisit Africa (my favourite Far Cry of all time remains FC2), South America, Cuba, Russia or a Vietnam war setting would also be a great possible locations for the next game.
TBH I don't care where or when it is set as they have all been amazing. I expected Primal to be good but it surpassed my expectations. I love the sniper rifle but now I use the spear and watching it hit with a satisfying thud as it lifts an enemy off their feet is fun. Ordering or riding the tamed beasts is great and using the owl to attack and drop bombs is better than just tagging enemies, they took the best elements and added to them. So I think wherever the next FC is set (whether it be cowboys v indians, fighting south American cartels or even Vikings) it will be different and just as good (but if I get my sniper rifle back I will be happy :) ).
FC for me has always been about surviving overwhelming odds and developing my character from a weakling into an attacker, Ubisoft has surprised me with how good it adapts to a prehistoric setting so I guess they can make it work anywhere, any time.
@Tustanuxo Yes the combat system in For Honor is brilliant, I've used a mouse and keyboard all my life but I'm learning to use a controller just for that, because it really give the sensation of swinging a sword (and it has Vikings, who unfortunately, seem to get overlooked in games).
Lotta like minded peeps in the "pitch FC5" thread. Personally I'm 100% with you on a return to modern day africa. I think thats the best possible setting. It's got a breadth of environment types, a TON of animal possibilities and 100 directions they could go with a story...
please we do need a game either assassins creed or far cry to be set in viking times, for example the invasion of England where your character (at the end) converts tom Christianity or some **** because they did lose the war eventually. castles (forts) big scale battles idk i just think it would be great! :)
Yeah there's some good ideas in this thread, thank you. I'd love to play a viking like Ragnar Lothbrok with travel and take castles and vikings fights in their own land.
