I agree - I think that a style similar to Ghost recon Wildlands would be far more immersive here than the ambiguous 1st person view, where you have no definable body. It's not exactly good for stealth play. It's a little antiquated these days.
I just can't buy the game because i can not stand playing 1st person games. It is a shame because I would love to play it
I always found 1st person a big issue for me. I understand the immersive feeling this kinda games give but not everybody can react in the same way and I don't. it really has bad effects on me. I play Fallout and Skyrim which allow to switch between 3rd and 1st person view depending on what you do in game. I agree 1st person is better when using bows and arrows but not in 1 on 1 fights with other weapons and definitely is a huge no when moving around, which makes even more sense in an open world or in a world like Far Cry Primal which wuld be perfect also for taking in-game snapshots.
I also believe adding a 3rd person option to the game would make lot of gamers like us who avoid all titles with the only 1st person option like I personally do. They should keep this in mind when creating a game, specially now that we've got VR versions of the games, where 1st person makes far more sense.
I really hope they add this option. Steam offers the game now with a 20% discount now but I won't buy it. I wouldn't take it either if it was given out for free like they did with For Honor last week. They have lost a customer in me and many others with me. They should make a huge survey in the gamers {why don't they use Steam for that, for example? I work in martketing advertising and communications for over 27 years by now and I really can't understand why they do mistakes like this. I would really question their operate if I was in a CEO position there.
I did watch the trailers about the game, in Steam and I started having a serious headache in less tan 10 minutes... actually it started in half that time and I did resist as far as I could ust to admire the beauty of this game.
Al this increases my disappointment in the lack of a 3rd person view option. A game like this is already so immersive on its own that a 1st persone exclusive option is redundant. Games developers should care about gamers health and work accordingly, putting advices sayin the game can have health issues for people, suffering epilepsy and hallucinations for example, is not enough.
People can rely on oneselves awareness and self consciousness to avoid buying a game with such issues, but personally if I could I would sue gaming software houses for this that I believe is a not acceptable behavior. The fact that they intentionally ignore such a request makes things even worse and even more inacceptable. I won't change my mind until our voice is not going to be heard and listened. They have a huge responsibility, I wonder if they are consious of that.
Gamers matter, we are half of the gaming world... we wouldn't exist, as gamers, without them but they would not exist without us.
I'm really tempted to buy the game, because I recognize how awesome it looks like, but I won't. It is now a matter of principle.
Yes!! That is a great ideia, I loved Far Cry Primal, but I always prefer 3rd person games. Yes I would pay for a DLC with this option if it lets you customize the appearance of Takkar.
In my mind 1st person view adds to the atmospheric experience in the game - you experience it with 2 senses instead of just one - hearing is far more important in 1st person view and the sound design of the game supports this pretty well (especially with earphones). 1st person is well done in the Farcry series and I guess that it is intentional to not offer a 3rd person view, which would get you "out of character" and therefore reduce the 1st hand experience from being "in character" instead of just looking at "another" character from a 3rd person perspective.
I hate feeling sick after playing 20 minutes... I never have that problem with 3rd person games... Love Primal an I'd play it over an over if it had a 3rd person view. Still looking for a 3rd person game with the quality pet controls that Primal has and the bow play as well. AC Odyssey has the 3rd person and pet but lacks the controls I love from primal but atleast I dont feel sick after playing :/
I hate 3rd person camera becuase its too revealing and forces you to "cheat" because you can look around obstacles without revealing yourself. Having said that it would be good to have a choice that way both kinds of gamer will be happy. Kinda like GTA5 is.
But Far Cry should always always be primarily 1st person, its what its known for. We already have the AC series with a hooded goat running around in 3rd person we dont want FC series to become like that.
