Since the game starts the sound desapear.
how to fix it?
What worked for me, exit the game first, right click sound, playback devices, click properties on the device you use. Click advanced and lower format to 16bit, 44100hz, click apply - reload the game
Ubisoft can you please fix this? I have a really nice pair of cans and a dac but I cannot use them!! I have to use my cheap PC speakers. This isn't a problem on any other game I own. :(
Can only get sound by disabling all other sound devices and can only use headphones
This game has exactly the same XAudio2 bug as Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs have: for Realtek audio devices (for example the ALC1150) using DTS Interactive or Dolby Digital Live to output 5.1 surround over SPDIF (hooked up to a receiver), you will only get working sound in the menus and maybe cutscenes, but NOT in game.
Workarounds:
- switch your default format to a stereo format (16 bits, 48000 Hz). You can continue using SPDIF but will get stereo in game, not 5.1
- drop the SPDIF and use analog connections to your receiver for full 5.1 (or use HDMI if you have it).
- other sound devices with DTS/DD encoding may work properly, don't know.
This is a known bug since Watch Dogs, but Microsoft, Ubi, nor Realtek have ever bothered to address it. Which is pitiful and a shame.
After del some .dll files, and reinstal a exe file, the game start to have some ambient sounds, beasts, and weapons... but people still mute T_T
I don't have a realtek device I have a peachtree DAC which doesn't have analog input as that defeats the purpose of owning a dac. Don't follow audio formats but I don't see how this is a Microsoft issue. It works on every other game i've played, it even works for assassins creed. Farcry team get your #(*$# together.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'll send this up to the devs.
Just posting this here to note there are a number of us over in the steam forums with this bug also.
Particularly in my case, sound is fine in game, but in cut scenes voices are lost/subdued. I
have realtech laptop sound drivers on motherboard, creative add-on card (I think...), but I am actually using my Logitech g35 headset with intergreted sound card for 7.1 sourround. The fix to lower audio quality or switch to two channels ollnly is unacceptable!
Please add to the priority fix list.
Many thanks,
Michael
If there is one thing am extremely picky about is sound from games. Good sound can make or break the game experience for me most of the time and when I experience glitches like these that force me use something other than my HT 7.1 Surround and the expensive MOBO I paid extra money for just for the DTS/Dolby live feature it really makes me angry.
If this was the first Ubisoft game that had an issue like this I may pass it but this is ridiculous, Watchdogs and now this.. seriously.. fix this. Is anyone else sick of these "triple A" game devs releasing crap games that need to be patched at launch and still don't work properly for MONTHS after release?!?!
