Thanks for the answer En0, sad to hear that though.
Please do, the value is enormous, it is and will be very useful :)

Thanks Oozi. It seems you laid off building a bit on Fusion. Not nearly like Evo.
Pouting and whining/suggestions...the fine line I walk is tiresome.
Oh yeah, remember Bar 66? Anyway, the tall bartender "Rod" said hi. I'm not sure what he meant by "hi", but he said you'll know what it means.
Happy holidays.
Well no one knows the numbers as well as RedLynx and regardless of how good/bad they are, they have decided it's worth it to add this and other features to the game. Without access to their data and with no behind the scenes knowledge of what they're working on all we can do is speculate. Just because they're supporting Fusion doesn't neccesarily mean it's at the expense of future Trials things, whatever they may be. Even if you are right about numbers, what does bringing them up acheive? It's not like anything people say here is going to massively influence RedLynx's plans.
+2. I agree. I'm fully aware that whatever is spoken about here doesn't really influence future Trials plans. I just wanted some insight from Redlynx as to why. Simple logic will tell you, once a small few remain...it makes no sense to add to a game. You will not build the game back up in numbers...impossible.
Try playing MP and see how well it goes. Ghost town. Not even 500 logged. TC cross platform will do zero, trust me. Nobody is on the game. It's just odd to see money spent for literally nobody to enjoy. I haven't heard a logical response from them, as there most likely isn't one. New players and monthly players....ok, where are they? Not on ps4.
You have 8 pages of "great job" with little insight into where the game currently is. All the changes are great, but for whom? This game is dead in 2 months. No new trials for 2016. That should be at least noted.
People must be ok with this being the last hurray for Trials, as it appears to be.
This would be the response you're asking for.
You also note "8 pages of 'good job' but for whom" and I think the 8 pages of people saying "great job" ARE the "whom" you're looking for.
Aside from that, people are psyched about the changes, we're psyched to have the ability and resources to get the changes done. It's clear at this point that you have your criticisms and we see that. There is a difference between having criticisms and trying to get everyone to look at this as negatively as you are.
Hey Matt. I can't say you aren't psyched about the cross platform and same for others, including myself. I don't think my view is based on negativity, but more reality of the current state of the game.
It would be similar to riding on the Titanic, after it smacks the big iceberg. As everyone is scrambling for life vests and boarding boats.....the captain screams, "FREE dessert with dinner tonight!!"
Initially, people are excited to get that free scoop of ice cream or maybe some cheesecake. As I hang of the railing awaiting the freezing water and my eminent death, I'm thinking?....who cares about ice cream?
Ok, it's a little stretch of an analogy, but I entertained myself for a minute. I know it's your job to voice positive things in the game and cross platforming is great, alone...yes. Who would disagree.
You try to play some simple MP at different times in a day and it's a strain to get a room half full. As a developer, I would think it's good to be aware how many are playing your title. People can talk about different numbers, but they don't impact a player's experience. Players on TC and MP are the most important on that front. When nobody is on TC, fewer people create. Nobody on MP, you'll retain fewer players...as most won't go back or ever get into it.
It's late in the life of the game, so this all makes sense...the updates to me still don't...but I'm all for the game being as good as it can. It's disheartening to know there is no new Trials for 2016. A real let down.
First off, that's more than a "little" stretch.
I have already addressed this topic with you previously in this thread a couple different ways and at this point I feel that it is pulling the conversation too far off topic.
The truth is there are still people building tracks and sharing them. There are still players joining multiplayer games and progressing, making use of the new season structure. Assuming that RedLynx is somehow being unrealistic about our player base and the activity within Trials Fusion couldn't be more misguided. Also assuming that anything we do with Trials Fusion somehow has anything to do with the future of games coming from RedLynx is pretty misguided. RedLynx has grown into a much larger studio than the early days. I've read through your posts in this thread and am having a hard time finding something you've stated that was anything more than an assumption, with some contradictions sprinkled in.
Now if you want to have a discussion about your interests and concerns, by all means, start a thread. My job is not to simply voice positive things in the forums blindly but to engage in conversation with you all, as a community, for the sake of expressing your interests and concerns to the team. If you want to attempt to guide the conversation in a different direction, a new thread would be best for everyone, not least of which, the people who are here actually looking for cross platform information. Derailing this thread simply to repeat your point is not the way to go about this.
I see what is happening here, however, and I just want you to understand that you might have missed the mark.
So... is this still going to happen?
I was cautiously optimistic about Unifying TC. We were told that retro uploads would start immediately but I don't think I've seen any to date.
Also, I uploaded a track to TC on Sunday morning and no other platform has it as of today (4pm on Thursday).
Would you please provide an update and tell us when we can expect to see functioning xplat TC again, and when/if we will be able to see retro uploads?
I have been dying to see my friends on other platforms try my tracks.
Thanks guys :)
I'm not quite sure what doesn't make sense? They're supporting a game that's out now with a minimal amount of resources, it's not like they're devoting all of their resources to this game. Regardless of whether a new Trials game is cooking or not, I doubt the support Fusion is getting has any bearing on it. They are working on other things and even if it involves Trials they aren't going to be telling anybody here soon. As for everything you've mentioned above about active player numbers, player retention etc...they know it better than anybody here so I don't see the point of bringing it up as they're not going to give the answers you want. As for no new Trials game in 2016, I'm not surprised, Trials is a more ambitious undertaking these days. Also maybe consider that RedLynx may want to grow beyond Trials. Just my 0.2 cents.
We have had some issues it seems with the immediate cross platform of new tracks. We're working on it, but for a more specific answer, let me get back to you after a proper update on the issue from the team. This thread would be the best bet to keep an eye on and I'll update you all as soon as possible.
(Also, just to be safe, be sure to search for the track by the track name as the creator will show as FusionShared if the creator is not on that platform.)
Dont take Vagastras as negative , its a positive thing he is sore at no new trials game. just shows the drug you was pushing worked. Maybe if we all knew whats happening , instead of just knowing there aint no new trials game then it could brighten the room a little. I am getting alittle bored of building with the same material so come on guys , new objects ?
Anychance of ever being able to gain data from your tracks on other platforms:)
I
Hello Funk,
The problem is not in being negative, it's in assuming things without information and spreading it as reliable/smart thoughts. As long as he's not able to say how many monthly active users Trials Fusion has, I don't see why he keeps insisting. D2Dahaka summed up very well my thoughts.
There is no new object coming, it's one of the most expensive thing to do for the game and it wouldn't make sense to invest there now. Also, the objects are what is heavy in the build and each time we push an update, the cost of the bandwidth is problematic (it's huge). However, I think there are enough different objects to be able to build custom objects as you did in some of your tracks :) The question is not the variety of objects but the variety of how builders use them and you're quite good at it. Keep going ;-) Also, the different themes of the building competition help to bring variety. I am sure we will have a lot of great things from the community builders all along 2016.
There is no chance for this game to gain data from your tracks on other platforms because this information is spread between servers and changes all the time :( However, we agree it's a problem and we will do our best to have another solution in a future game but we can't promise anything as we're not sure there would be a better way.
Let us know if there is anything else you would like to have visibility on :)
Cheers,
hi eno
Oh yeah i agree there is already plenty of editor objects and many ways to use them and customize our own from what's there already, in the end it comes down to our own creativity and imagination , but like anything we all like new toys to play with and and with all the past dlc's came a feeling of excitement and on release we saw and massive increase in building. I didn't realise the limitations of these on bandwith and cost so that's cool there wont be anymore, everything has limitations i guess. Its shame we wont be seeing any but not a problem to stop my enjoyment.
Sounds like its pretty much impossible for data to be collected then , again another shame but totally understandable why it cant be done. In many ways without visible knowledge of your builds on other platforms the crossplatform from a builders perspective could be seemed as pointless. After the initial first stage of the feature i feel without it actually increasing your visible downloads or having any data from it , it may just become an invisible feature when it is possibly the biggest feature next to mp that as happened to the game. One of the greatest things about this from a builders perspective is that we can build for many more people and have many more people play our builds but with no feedback or knowledge of this happening its like building a bike for your son and then not being able to see him ride it.
Im totally for the crossplatform but just disappointed that such a valuable asset to it, is there but not being seen because in theory it is being played x 3 around the platforms and would wield about the same downloads as when a track was uploaded at the start of the game. :)
redlynx could always buy everyone the other 2 platform consoles and the game ( it is crimbo after all ):p
Yeah you couldnt share some light on this weeks lotto numbers could you:p
This topic heading needs to be changed to "Cross platform on TC, something we may follow up on in the next month...maybe". :)
I'm still wondering why not one of the 7 new extreme tracks from over a month back ever made it to one MP playlist. Who actually oversees the implementation on this?
The game should be free for a month on Ps4 to boost players. Maybe the best option.
Eno, how many monthly players are on the ps4? Unless, it's top secret classified. I know how nda's can be. Having a counter on MP for current active players is something that seems logical.
Funk, once cross platforming is properly carried out in a few months...just double the downloads as a good estimate. I'm sure pc players are a small fraction of the community.
Me, let it go...it's over..haha
Don't get me wrong, but I do kind of agree that it is late in this game that it has come along but regardless of this now people have more tracks to play without buying a new console just to get trials for that game too, I know some of us have already done that, I came from 360 to X1 but now I don't have to buy a PS4 just to play the tracks now or wait for them to be cross platformed if they get in a UPlay Recommended feed, brilliant and top notch to RedLynx for doing so. As I said with the too late bit yes... it may seem it's too late as the numbers of people playing now is getting lower but this would of enticed a few people to come back also, but if it was done at the start then people will be enjoying more of a variety earlier than now.
But here is where it will benefit for the next trials game, if they know that this works then they can do it for the next lot of trials games to come. Regardless of numbers that are here now, it is great that RedLynx are showing the support even if the numbers of players were low or high. I am grateful for it too as for the OTHG have the tracks to run for the HLC's too, brings us all together more as a community again too.
Agreed. This update is late, but it's cool. And they did it for us, core players.
Why they worked on it instead of a new Trials? Simply because there will be no next Trials game (or before years). Stop dreaming.
Proof is that RedLynx is already working on a different game. And after all those years, it seems natural for them to want to do something else. As a developper I could understant that.
Anyway, cross plateform content nowaday is huge! Thank you RedLynx.
X-plat TC was a HUUUUGE announcement, which makes the disappointment that much worse. We were told retro tracks would start being added immediatley at the rate of roughly 1500 per day (as per the RL Official stream on twitch).
If the devs have no capability/intention of making this happen, then fine. But let us know about it instead of building our expectations up sky high then leaving us in the dark.
Hi , i was so happy about tc crossing but now im sad....why xbox360 is rejected from this project? I mean dam! when you begin something go the the end of your idea , dont reject all the amazing track of the 360 pls i like to play with my old track again.....
Hello,
As explained on a previous post and during the streams last week, there are some problems with making it working smoothly on the production environment. The reason is because there are some differences between the development environment and the production environment that usually don't impact any features but that do impact for this feature that is very special and as none other. From what I see on PC, there are more and more "FusionShared" tracks on PC every day, just not as many as we want.
About the X360, I believe the right way to ask for having the X360 tracks included would be "Could we please also include the X360 tracks as well? There are a lot of great tracks and that would allow me to play with the tracks I created when I was on X360. Thanks a lot for considering it!". And as we already said, we will look at it when it will work flawlessly for the rest.
Happy Christmas everyone ;-)
Cheers,
ha ha ha now that made me laugh , nothing like a slice of sarcasm to wash down that turkey , nice one eno:p
I am sure if and when its possible to also involve the 360 it will indeed be added to the crossplatform. They arent going to leave it out for no reason if it is possible to add the tracks from it. They need as many builders as possible.
Well on that note , whats the line from that christmas song
" Its Christmaaaaassss "
( fingers crossed for that blonde bird over the road:p )
Merry Christams all:)
Whilst this (potentially) could be a good thing for the community, at this moment in time I'm not really seeing it, truth be told.
Entering 'FusionShared' into the search engine produces no results. Good start. So I take a look at the Highest Rated for the month. Murican Hillclimb [k8], now this is a nice track.KALzzone8 even has the good sense to put his tag in the description (I do like to know who the builder is).
Anyways, going through the month there are a few Extremes that look half decent:-Silent Frontier (this looks a good one,) Desolation [EZ] (this too,) Industrimental and Drunken Freestyle may warrant a play also. The Rock Edit and Townsville are half decent Mediums, but I'm not seeing a deal else noteworthy.
Now, I can appreciate that you guys do need a break and it is Christmas and all that, but at the moment this feature leaves one with a feeling of seriously unfulfilled potential.
Happy Christmas. :)
"Happy Christmas"?
Everyone who read this was just gonna let this slide? Look the other way? Ok. Alright. That's fine. No big deal. I'm good with it.
Regardless of cross platform opinions and suggestions, I personally put in more time than usual on TC the other night. Usually it's a few tracks and I'm done. Found myself playing for over an hour so something must be getting better as there were a lot more tracks to choose from. That's all-
If I don't see you before next year,
Happy Christmas and Merry New Years everybody!
Okay, I'm a grumpy old sod. Just struggling to comprehend seeing the Purple One playing Trials. What's up, ESO not working for you now?
"Happy Christmas and Merry New Years everybody!". You're a funny guy. Good job my Coffee has gone cold.
I have every faith that RL will sort this.......Soon.
I'll assume late February the cross platform issue may be fixed...but probably not before then. 2-3 months is pretty standard when a problem arises. I'm still scratching my head on how 7 brand new extreme tracks have never been implemented into the MP game? After 6 weeks time.
I see now why all the changes have been made late in the game. Simply put, this is the last Trials for quite some time. I played a few solid cross platform tracks today. Imagine if all were done...this would be solid. I would have implemented it...then when it worked, announced it....but I'm old fashion like that.
As stated numerous times, we've run into some issues with the cross platform TC. The team is actively working to get this resolved as soon as possible.
In the meantime, TC is still functional and more tracks are showing up. Not as many as originally intended, but progress is being made.
We appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks.
So you're being impatient with us because we are following up on something the devs promised while they apparently didn't know how to accomplish it? Give us some real details please. When you make a huge announcement with specific promises, you create accountability for yourself.
TC is baaaarely functional. There are sections of it I can't even load at times and connecting to Ubisoft servers can be HORRIBLY unreliable. Not a good sign for the future.
I'm sure there are external factors (such as Ubisoft), but people are getting used to being disappointed by Red Lynx.
Hello Jtrunn84,
This is not the place to have an aggressive discussion. It is not acceptable to come here to look for a conflict with the community manager.
We appreciate players being enthusiastic about the game and frustrated about the issue but it is not a reason to display such behavior.
Also, let me remind you this is a feature we brought for free 18 months after launch. It deserves some respect and tolerance.
We can discuss and answer questions, but it has to be in a respectful context.
The feature has some real problems on production environment and the fact it is Christmas (teams are not at full capacity) doesn't help to get a quick resolution.
The PS4 seems the most impacted while the PC still gets some new tracks from other platforms every day.
The reasons for the hiccups of the cross platform sharing are given here, 2 posts after your last one: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...1#post11250254
Outside of the cross platform question, I looked at the telemetry to see if TC had any problems and from what we see, that is working correctly. People are creating, sharing, downloading and running tracks continuously.
Also, there hasn't been recent reports of servers outage.
So your complaints don't seem to have any recent ground.
If you have some constructive and respectful questions, please feel free to share them, we'll be happy to answer to them. Otherwise, restrain yourself.
Cheers,
Eno
Thank you Eno for your thorough reply. I'm not picking a fight with anyone here. Shotcha began his post in a confrontational, frustrated manner and I called him out on it. I also felt like I exercised plenty of restraint.
"Also, let me remind you this is a feature we brought for free 18 months after launch. It deserves some respect and tolerance."
Believe me, I am VERY appreciative of the efforts RL has put toward my favorite gaming franchise. You might notice that I host RL official every chance I get (whether it's 4 viewers or 40). The xplats for new tracks is awesome and has breathed new life into this game for all platforms. Bravo, and thank you!
Retro xplats is a big deal to me. There are tracks on other platforms I have been DYING to play and I thought that might finally be possible when I heard the announcement. All I want is what we were told we were getting and to be kept in the loop.
Cheers,
JKT
Hi JKT,
Thanks for the answer and understanding. I don't think Matt's post was confrontational. Let's move on.
We'll try to give updated information as often as possible, but if you don't see enough information and wants an update, feel free to ask and we'll give you the latest information.
Cheers,
Hello everyone,
So the speed of cross platform sharing is now fixed, however, it is currently spamming the "Newest" feeds which was not the design.
If something is shared now on a platform, it should be reshared a few minutes later on every platform and appear on the newest feed.
If something was shared before we activate the cross platform sharing, it will be reshared in the coming weeks/days on every platform and shouldn't appear on the newest feed.
This design should mitigate the problem of spamming. However, it's not what we see now. Please do not release your tracks now as it will get lost in the middle of everything else.
The 2 remaining problems:
- The search on "FusionShared" works only on PC and not on X1 and PS4.
- The newest feeds are spammed.
We keep looking at it.
Cheers,
Bigtime thanks for the update Eno! SeemsGood
So it looks like Retro xplats have begun. Is there a way we could see raw data on retro xplats completed since we do not have a searchable database on TC?
Ok i understand , i apologize for my ******* language but i really want to play my own xbox360 trak i created last year , i spent 12 hour per track to make theme. Thanks
Hello,
The "newest" feeds were spammed because of the tracks that were blocked in the pipe, so it should be ok now. Let us know if you see a problem in the "newest" feeds.
The retro xplat hasn't begun yet, we just enabled the automated cross platform sharing for the tracks that are shared now.
We'll enable the retro xplat as soon as we confirm what is already enabled works correctly.
We can't really provide raw data because that would be dozen of thousands of lines but we'll make sure players can look for "FusionShared" as a creator in the search tool in TC and that it sends back the results.
Next steps:
- Fix the search tool to work with "FusionShared"
- Enable retro xplat
- Enable X360 tracks copy towards PC/X1/PS4
Cheers,
Confirmed... Big style :)
Thanks for the updates En0,
Couldn't keep up with the tracks hittin' TC yesterday :)
Found a few nice ones though so, yea great stuff!
Really hope you guys can get round to the 360 tracks,
360 being the platform that helped build Trials up to where it is today deserves an ol' nod ;)
So many gems back there many of us would love to see again...
Big appreciation for the efforts so far :)
Cheers.
EnO/Matt, thankyou for the update on things.
First off there is a new 'Its Fidelity' build, that'll be played first. FusionShared is looking promising today:- Joy of Christmas [K95], Lumber Peak, Snowy Peak [FG], Winter Woodlands, [Vegas] Snow Drift, "MOONLIGHT", Fungal Frothiness, Ark Escape XRTO -13 [VP], Way of The Ply 111, to name a few I like the look of.
A nice selection to have a run at. :)
