My PS4 account is XW-PsykoZ :p
Initially the idea was for retro x plat was for them not to show up in the newest feed , obviously not wanting to cause a mass amount of spam , i assume it is suppose to work in the back ground and add all tracks to the bank without causing any effect to the newest feed and peoples tracks that are being made and uploaded now. Doing this may have put them in a different bracket in the search system. I wouldn't personally search for tracks with 0 downloads as i saw my self that there was already 100s of these tracks on ps4 anyway before any x plat.
I personally think its probably a waste of time x platting retro tracks as these will just stay lost for most people , barring a few who choose to search for them. all this trouble they have had doing this most likely could ave been better spent as only a couple of 100 will search for older tracks anyhow. Lets also not forget the duplicate lot of recommended tracks that will also now be added to the vault. There is also the 1 point checkpoint tracks that will now double and i would imagine in nearly 2 years thats alot of tracks. Maybe they could have used this as a feature to include the community and have us pick trough the rubble for the best bricks to re use.:)
Waistless. Thanks for the reply. I understand your post fully, but when searching FusionShared, there are no retro cross platform tracks from the last few days. There should be 3000 or so added. The number of search pages was 143, 3 days back. Now maybe 144. You should have an additional 420 pages of tracks. The newest feed has maybe 12 tracks added from Jan. 8th...not even pages, but tracks. It didn't work properly on the ps4.
Are you noting the number of searchable pages?
Funk. You are spot on. Very few are searching a bunch of tracks. As far as pulling more downloads from the cross platform retro feature...if it worked...you may yield another 80 downloads. The timing of many things in the game has been almost a bad joke. Going way back to launching a multiplayer 10 months into the game. Almost like being trolled. Well done I guess.
I'm looking forward to playing the retro builds, but this is just another goof up. Things are announced multiple times without even checking. It's a strange way to run a company. Sometimes things don't work, which is fine...but a simple check on validating fixes, etc isn't even carried out. It's odd.
Notice that if you search any track any creator no filters you will also get 143 pages of tracks.
There seems to be a rough limit of 143 pages when you search without filters. I select extreme difficulty and the amount of pages only goes down to 104, so that seems to be the full selection. I confirmed this by filtering extreme and skill games. This resulted in only 8 pages, featuring quite a few extreme skill games dated 2016-01-09 that did NOT show up in newest skill games.
So to repeat USE FILTERS and it should work.
Waistless...good call. I should have done another search to see that 143 is the max number. I know you didn't code it, but isn't there an obvious problem there with it limiting 1000 tracks total in the search? Even if you pick hard or extreme, more than 1000 will easily be there in a week or so. Plus you can't search by date, so you'll be pulling the same searched tracks...despite new ones being uploaded.
The retro is very poorly executed. Very rough. Imagine someone not on the forum try to look things up....good luck.
Thanks for the input.
Agreed, there definitely needs to be a sort by date added to search. Or should I say re-added since you could do this in Evo TC, not sure why it would be left out :/
Having a search limit does make sense though, since you aren't meant to grab the whole track database with one query. Just needs better filtering options.
I hopped on to check out the retro tracks for the past few days.
The irony of a 14 page thread with no real way to view the 10000 tracks that have been uploaded.
Even isolating the search to FusionShared "hard"...you get 1000 tracks with no search by date. By the time I hit the 10th page of 143, I give up.
All this effort and talk for tracks you can't find. Left speechless once again.
Any more ideas coming from Redlynx on this one?
Ok, first of I want to say thanks a lot to you all at Redlynx for making this happen. I think just about everyone appreciate the effort that went in to this, especially in the ninja community. I would like to point out some issues though and maybe some suggestions to improve things.
It appears my old tracks from PC did not upload under my name on X1, even though I have linked my account on both PC and X1. I also linked on a family members ps4 but I haven't been able to check there yet. I uploaded some new tracks on X1 and they appeared under my gamer tag on PC just fine though. Not too big of an issue since I'm not too proud of my earliest tracks, I just hope it works when I start uploading on my PC again ;)
The other problem is the search like many others have said. However it is not a new problem. I remember when I started playing that it was hard to find tracks after playing through most of the very highly rated ones. At the moment a search is only useful if you already know what you are looking for or you are checking out a track author you know the name of. There should be the option of filtering tracks based on likes, downloads, non-completed and tags to name a few. Also it would be useful if there was more descriptive tags on tracks like: back wheel. front wheel, tutorial, stationary, fender grab, etc. And maybe have the community able to tag tracks after playing them.
Lastly, I know there is some Microsoft/Sony limitations on what you can do. But maybe you could also xplat statistics like downloads/likes on tracks? Seems like this would not be a problem since it is anonymous. And also, maybe it would be possible to xplat replays for those who have bound their accounts on multiple platforms?
That's all I got. Thanks again for making TC this awesome. ;)
As mentioned in a different thread, adding in more detailed search options might not be possible at this point in time. On the flip side, all feedback like this is still immensely helpful and we can use this going forward in many ways. So while I'm sorry to say that this might not be something we can resolve, I certainly want the conversation to continue. I'm just attempting to keep this transparent so you don't feel like we are ignoring your concerns.
@Trash As for browsing retro tracks, it can be difficult to browse the older ones freely. But it sounds more like you're looking for something specific. If that's the case then there are some alternatives for finding the track/tracks you are looking for.
@Nox This is all really great feedback. As far as your retro tracks issue, I will push this to the team and maybe they can get it figured out.
Hi. Im not exactly sure why, but i have received a track from Xbox One on my PSN and PC track central accounts that shouldn't be there. The track is called "A Quick Death" and was made on my second account on Xbox One.
I logged into my UPlay account on PC to make sure the gamertag wasnt linked to the Uplay account and it isnt. Only my PSN and Main Gamer tag are linked to it.
