If weapons de-graded upon actual use, and only jammed after a set usage limit? And picked up weapons were already at, say, "half-life" for that weapon.
But I would think it means another interface method for replacing a used weapon with a "newer" one. Or by simply interacting with the weapons menu screen the slotted weapons were "renewed"?
I would not mind reverting back to fewer available weapons either.
Weapons shouldn't degrade during a course of one gameplay. I suppose the character is capable of cleaning his weapon (I know I would be) so jamming is pretty much out of the question too.
Looted weapons could jam from time to time but that's it.
yeah it could be frustrating, but that's why i think it should be a toggled option for people who will like it.
Prefer it to have a dynamic HUD feature like the ammo counter. You toggle it on to simulate taking the breech out and checking for grime. This way you could check it BEFORE going into a crucial battle, then implement a quick field cleaning. Weapons purchased new and in good condition don't generally jam with normal maintenance though, and that's where FC2's jamming was a nonsense novelty feature that frustrated many. And as mentioned, FC2 was nowhere near as constantly dynamic with random action as Far Cry 3 & 4 are. It didn't even have predators.
A lot of FC2 fanatics talk about bringing FC2 features into the next game intertwined with those of FC3 & 4, but I think a lot of them don't fully realize what that would entail to avoid making a complete mess of it.
I agree with Frag_Maniac, that's why the goal is to bring very few of FC3/4s features into FC2 to make the ultimate game, not try and bring serious gaming to FC3/4, they are too far gone down the arcade path to be salvageable.
Tagging? Wall-hacks? I can't believe anyone tolerated it in FC3 that it got brought forward to FC4. I guess that means a majority of today's gamers can't appreciate a challenge? If that's the case, I'm done with the franchise, I'll let these people impress themselves with their "skills" in a game that SHOWS YOU WHERE THE ENEMY IS AT ALL TIMES. What's next, auto aim/auto shoot? LOL
Please don't say you "agree" with me, then go on to completely take what I say out of context. I only offered a plausible way of implementing weapon jamming/cleaning. I never implied the next game should have mostly FC2 features and "very few" FC3/4 features. If anything I've always maintained Far Cry 3 & 4 get more things right than FC2 did.
This is the kind of thing I'm talking about when I say FC2 fanatics go too far in their lobbying for Far Cry 2.5. So far none of you have proved me wrong in that regard. Having an opinion is one thing, trying to sway an entire community, esp by falsely representing them, is quite another.
And they made enemy tagging via camera and weapon completely optional via turing it off in the menu in FC4, which i think was enough of a change. It was only FC3 that was annoying in that regard, you actually had to use a mod to remove it completely.
Here's an example of how "far gone" FC3/4 are: in FC3 if you use the syringe to "highlight" the objects, it lasts for the duration of that syringe; in FC4, it's permanent!
