  1. Adobe Photoshop would probably get the job done, but if he want to be serious with it, none other than Adobe Illustrator.
Illustrator has all the bells and whistles for vector creation. It's essentially designed for making logos/headings and stuff.
Its arguably the best in the business, and not to hard (dissimilar from Photoshop) to use.

Also, if he wants to do brochures or super complicated titles with subtext, images.. anything with multiple pages and relies on type; go with Adobe Indesign. Its tougher to get through... that program can be a pain in the, erm.. hind-quarters if you're not well caffeinated.

A quick search in google will take you to the online help .pdf, so if one needs to know, one can easily find out.
Also, tell him, or you can, gimmie a shout here or on Twitter and I can fill you in too.

    cheers man
  2. Hey man, I have a question from a friend of mine. He wants to make logos and such for his dad's business that he works for. Not sure what program to use and I told him I knew someone who knew all sorts of useful information on graphic designs and what programs to use and such. What should I tell him would be best to start?
  3. Yeah, I'm working on getting it back. The new sizes are a little smaller too, I think they cap out at 100 pixels high, my old one was 150...
Anyway, I gotta redo her profile page to, as a lot of stuff has gone apesh!t. Dunno how I'm gonna fit it all in either, as they've halved the amount of characters you can have in one post, so if I edit it I think half of it may go missing. *sigh
I may just put a short version here and link to the full version that I'll up on DeviantArt. Anyhow, I'll have things back up to speed before to much longer.
    Cheers
