View Full Version : What settings should I be using for ACU?

This is my rig. I am trying to find what settings I should be using
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (two sets, 16GB total)
EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card

There are frequently times where the game freezes up and gets ridiculously low fps such as outside of Notre Dame.

What settings are you currently using?

Have you done all the tweaks recommended on this forum? If not pm me

Ambient Occlusion: SSAO
Environment Quality: High (just recently moved to Medium)
Shadow Quality: Low
Texture Quality: High (just recently moved to Low)

I started with those settings at 1080p, then dropped to 900p. At 900p everything looked so much worse and the problems didn't go away. Then I went back to 1080p and dropped environment quality and texture quality. I didn't play very much after that change, but things looked a bit more stable. I am thinking about turning off ambient occlusion.

I play with an FX 4300, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 750 Ti with 900p, SSAO, FXAA, High textures, low shadows, ultra high environment (the 2nd highest, without it the grass looks terrible and it doesn't impact my performance much more than high) I usually get 25-30 fps with occasional 5 second freezes. I'm content with this because I'm very used to lag

I currently am playing in these settings -

Ambient Occlusion: SSAO
Environment Quality: Very High
Shadow Quality: High
Texture Quality: High (I get huge fps drops if I move it to Ultra, due to less VRAM of the GTX 760)

So based on the settings that you have given I think you should be fine. My Rig is in my Signature.
