I have been looking through all the Ubisoft Featured Maps in the Map Browser to check on their Object / Memory Use and Performance.

The image above is from a map called Forest Outpost which uses up 66.4% in the Memory but you can see that the Performance is as far in the green as it could be, the next biggest memory use from the 23 maps available in Featured uses up 65.4% - There are three in the 50s with 58.1% 55.5% 50.4% and all the others are under 50%

From the two maps I have published so far one uses Objects 99.18% and Memory 41.9% & the other Objects 98.30 with 49.5% memory

Now thinking about this the PC can handle way more in the editor than the consoles but it seems that these maps are all designed so that all platforms are the same.
My opinion is that the Objects cap at 100% is possibly the limit for Xbox 360 and PS3 but in reality PS4 / XB1 can (should be able to) handle a lot more.

So I am asking / hoping that at some point the allowance for objects on the newer consoles (XB1 / PS4) can be raised by almost double which will allow us to build bigger maps and will in turn add to the lifespan of the game where the editor is concerned.

When the 3 guys went on the visit to Montreal they were told that Next Gen systems would have almost double the allowance of their older consoles but unfortunately that did not happen.

Now usually after 6 months of release we don't get any patches / fixes which is what I believe happened with Far Cry Instincts Predator, FC2 , FC3 - so this is the reason why I am popping the suggestion now.

Both maps I have made so far have had to be cut short from what I wanted to build and I am sure most others are the same that they feel there simply is not enough object allowance to do what they want when building a map, if the Memory gets closer to 100% and the Performance meter starts to slide into the Red then we know we are going to get issues with the map but as it is I see no reason why anyone would want to prevent their fans / community from enjoying the experience more if it can be done.

As for the older consoles it would be unfortunate if they can't handle the same number of things on screen but that is the nature of the beast and this is the reason why I moved from PS3 to PS4 hoping that those on consoles with more guts under the bonnet would be rewarded with more allowance where the editor is concerned.

I'm with you, mate

It is one of the great mysteries of this version of the editor. The performance bar is of no use at present. It never moves toward red.
It is as if anyone could have tried to map out the green. but do not understand how PS3 and PS4 may have the same limitations of objects and memory.

In memory, it may be that a portion this reserved for the coop.

I also think it is a collateral damage from being a intergenerational game, and damned delivery deadlines.

Hopefully Ubi do something and do not let it die prematurely.

Well a BLANK Map used 29.6% Memory with nothing in, this allows for placing Animals / A.I. (Enemy) Vehicles etc so really we are not using much memory at all if the majority of maps border on 50% memory use - That is approx 20% on top of what is already taken.
