too big and just a little bit silly in a game that prides itself on realism.

Im used to them by now so they dont bother me at all.....but on the other hand I've read some accounts by ww2 pilots (Finns and german)
who claimed that the flash wsnt at all visible from cockpit during daytime..(why would they lie about this ?).

Also read that the tracers were seen at long distances and pilots could find the battle this way ,even if they didnt see planes.
(over finland and russia anyway)

thnx

sometimes tracer is the only way I have found a fight online, so guess from what you say that tracer is well done.

Yeah Oleg is fully aware. It was a mistake and I can't imagine we'll see them in BoB

At night....the muzzle flashes would be very bright, as they are in the game now, since the pilot's eyes would be dialated to see as well as poosible in the darkness, thus a blinding flash.
But..during the day I doubt they would be this big. Besides first-hand accounts, I have never seen muzzle flashes in any daylight WWII documentary film except for lagre naval guns.

Imo when fired in the day you should see a little heat shimmer and thats it, at night, a bit of flame i guess considering forward airspeed

the duration of the flash for night is even to great

seriously on flim night flashes are highly visible

but to the naked eye , at night they happen super quick while being un-noticable during the day

i.e. you wouldnt see them

on the il2's cannon in the day the muzzle flashs look bigger in reality slowed on film then whats in the game, but also the flash disapears is alot quicker, on the p47 p51 p40 in reality the flashes are very small, the 190 and me262 block vision which is why i think they should be corrected but oleg said he wont
